Speaker:

what's going on, everybody.

Speaker:

Welcome back to the elemental Evan show.

Speaker:

Thank you all so much for tuning in on this beautiful mini Monday episode

Speaker:

today, it is a gem of an episode.

Speaker:

I'm super excited to share it with all of you.

Speaker:

It is going to be about leaning into uncomfortable situations and learning how

Speaker:

to grow from those situations and, uh, you know, get better in those situations.

Speaker:

Ultimately, because obviously not many people like to be uncomfortable.

Speaker:

Uh, that's not a common human trait, but it's something that

Speaker:

we can really benefit from.

Speaker:

So that's going to be today's topic.

Speaker:

However, before we jump into that episode, I wanted to take a moment

Speaker:

and mention that here in the Northern hemisphere, it is winter time.

Speaker:

The change of seasons has already happened, and there are tons

Speaker:

of people who are getting sick.

Speaker:

I've seen many of them around me personally, and one of the ways

Speaker:

that I have been able to not get sick and really keep my immune

Speaker:

system at the top level possible.

Speaker:

For myself is through the use of organic immunity blend as well

Speaker:

as their other three blends that I keep on hand all time at all times

Speaker:

the green juice, the red juice and the gold, those three are awesome.

Speaker:

They taste great, and they help really bolster your immune system as well

Speaker:

as just, you know, help keep you.

Speaker:

Uh, in a healthier state, uh, they benefit the mind.

Speaker:

They use functional herbs and mushrooms.

Speaker:

Uh, their blends are, like I said, not only delicious, but they

Speaker:

really help to benefit the body.

Speaker:

I actually throw a little extra camu camu powder, which is the highest

Speaker:

content of vitamin C that we know of.

Speaker:

Uh, in a plant and I will go ahead and throw a little bit of that in my morning.

Speaker:

Green juice, just to give it an extra kick.

Speaker:

And they are, like I said, just really beneficial for

Speaker:

keeping you at your top level.

Speaker:

So if you are looking to not get sick this winter, or if you have already

Speaker:

been sick, then not get sick again.

Speaker:

Uh, go ahead and head over to Organifi and get your hands on some of their

Speaker:

different blends, whether it's their green, their immunity blend, or the

Speaker:

red or the gold or whatever it may be.

Speaker:

They're all top notch ingredients third-party tested for glyphosate,

Speaker:

which is huge, obviously organic.

Speaker:

And just like I said, the highest quality of ingredients that you can think of.

Speaker:

I really, really love their products.

Speaker:

And on top of that, you don't have to pinch your nose and drink it down.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

You can, you can leave your nostrils open wide.

Speaker:

It tastes delicious and, uh, it does so much benefit for the body.

Speaker:

So go ahead and check them out.

Speaker:

I had them linked in the show notes.

Speaker:

That's Organifi.

Speaker:

Oh, R G a N I F I.

Speaker:

And there is a 20% discount code in the show notes just for

Speaker:

being a listener to the show.

Speaker:

So if you click on that link and use the code, the discount code that's associated

Speaker:

with it right there, you will go ahead and get 20% off your entire order.

Speaker:

Alrighty, I'll go check them out and much love to you.

Speaker:

And please stay healthy this winter season.

Speaker:

Alrighty.

Speaker:

Now let's actually get in to the good stuff about the episode.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

As I was saying, leaning into uncomfortable situations is really so

Speaker:

fundamental in our growth, as you know, just essentially as human beings, right.

Speaker:

It's through uncomfortable situations that we really.

Speaker:

Learn how to handle these uncomfortable situations and

Speaker:

also, you know, just develop this.

Speaker:

Uh, I like to think of it like a tool belt with all these different

Speaker:

tools to handle future situations.

Speaker:

That might be like that because realistically.

Speaker:

Life doesn't necessarily get easier.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

We just get better at addressing the situations that are thrown our way.

Speaker:

And the way we get better at that is by going through these difficult situations

Speaker:

and, you know, each time learning from these situations, what did I do right.

Speaker:

In that situation that made it easier or, you know, made things flow

Speaker:

better or whatever it may be, or what did I do wrong in that situation?

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And we learned through this process of going through difficult

Speaker:

times and equipping our tool belt so that we can better address

Speaker:

those situations in the future.

Speaker:

Now I also think that there's a lot of people who have passions

Speaker:

in certain areas of life, right?

Speaker:

Maybe like, for example, myself, with podcasting.

Speaker:

Uh, I love health and wellness, right.

Speaker:

But for me to share my message of health and wellness, that means that

Speaker:

I have to get in front of people.

Speaker:

I have to physically, you know, show my face or allow you to hear my voice

Speaker:

and share this information, which.

Speaker:

Uh, you know, for myself public speaking, it's not a, a major fear of mine, but

Speaker:

you know, it's not something that I'm necessarily the best at, or that I, you

Speaker:

know, handle like a pro or anything.

Speaker:

I'm not Tony Robbins or something like that.

Speaker:

Uh, but you know, it's something that I know is.

Speaker:

A.

Speaker:

You know, it's, it's the ability for me to.

Speaker:

Share my information and my knowledge and help others through speaking and getting

Speaker:

on camera and getting in front of people.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

So I'm reading a book right now called courage is calling by Ryan holiday.

Speaker:

It's an excellent book.

Speaker:

I highly recommend it.

Speaker:

And in the book, there's a part where he talks about this judge who.

Speaker:

I think it was really far back in the days, like in

Speaker:

the Roman times or something.

Speaker:

And he was so nervous to do public speaking and he ended up being one

Speaker:

of like the most famous, I guess, Uh, lawyers or whatever it was at the time.

Speaker:

And the first time he actually had to go and public speak in front of

Speaker:

a, you know, a judge and all of this.

Speaker:

He actually froze up and wasn't able to really talk.

Speaker:

And so the judge kindly let him off and was like, we're just going to

Speaker:

reschedule this for another day.

Speaker:

But imagine if he had never showed up that second time, it was just like

Speaker:

allowing that fear to take a hold of him and keep him from pursuing his goals.

Speaker:

You know, I mean, even though it's something that obviously he didn't

Speaker:

enjoy initially, it was a means to not really an end, but a means to him

Speaker:

being able to do what he loved and was really, really good at obviously.

Speaker:

So what I'm trying to say here is if there's something that you really enjoy

Speaker:

in life, or you want in life where you want to go after pursue whatever

Speaker:

it may be, but there's just certain aspects of it where you're like, oh,

Speaker:

well, I wouldn't really enjoy that.

Speaker:

Or, you know, It makes me feel uncomfortable.

Speaker:

I would say, go ahead for it.

Speaker:

Get comfortable in those situations, equip your tool belt, right?

Speaker:

Every situation can be difficult, but it's really how we handle

Speaker:

those situations and learn from those situations and apply those.

Speaker:

You know, This new knowledge that we gained from those

Speaker:

situations into the future.

Speaker:

That really benefits us.

Speaker:

And for example, this is why I really enjoy doing the cold plunges.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Uh, for example, if I go and do a fire and ice session, which is

Speaker:

obviously sauna and ice plunge.

Speaker:

Uh, ice bath.

Speaker:

Well, I always start my sessions off with the sauna.

Speaker:

The sauna is the easiest thing.

Speaker:

Obviously it's a nice and warm you get in there and it just feels good.

Speaker:

It's the ice.

Speaker:

Uh, the ice bath that is actually difficult.

Speaker:

And I saved the ice bath for last, because I know that, um,

Speaker:

you know, it's good to struggle.

Speaker:

And so I like to shiver and warm up naturally as opposed

Speaker:

to going back into the sauna.

Speaker:

So I'll go to the sauna first and then I will myself to get into that

Speaker:

ice water, even on the days that I might not really want to do it.

Speaker:

Those are the days that I think are the most beneficial, because it's when

Speaker:

you w you know, show yourself who's in control and, you know, will yourself

Speaker:

force yourself to get into that ice bath, which is an uncomfortable situation.

Speaker:

And, you know, your body is like yelling to get out, get comfortable.

Speaker:

Uh, you know, go, go get in a warm bed or go back into the

Speaker:

sauna, whatever it may be.

Speaker:

And when we actually force ourselves to sit in that uncomfortability and

Speaker:

dig deep, find the tools that we've used in the past to help us get

Speaker:

through that uncomfortable situation.

Speaker:

By the time you get out, I mean, you just really proved yourself

Speaker:

how tough you can actually be, and also prove to yourself that.

Speaker:

You know, you can really handle difficult situations, whatever they are.

Speaker:

There's always a way you can always figure out a way to get through that situation.

Speaker:

And so I think there's a lot of value in that.

Speaker:

I think that, you know, a lot of.

Speaker:

The things we have in modern life right now are really catered to

Speaker:

comfortability, which don't get me wrong.

Speaker:

I enjoy, uh, you know, uh, air conditioner and a heater when it's hot or cold.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

I enjoy hot water for my showers and, um, you know, the luxury

Speaker:

of a oven and a stove top.

Speaker:

But at the end of the day, you know, we do need to go get uncomfortable and

Speaker:

struggle a little bit to really also find an appreciation for the things that we do

Speaker:

have and the luxuries that we have in our.

Speaker:

Lives and realistically, by getting uncomfortable, that's

Speaker:

how you become resilient.

Speaker:

And resilience is such an important factor to have in life, from work

Speaker:

to, um, your relationships, to even just being a species that continues

Speaker:

on for, you know, all these years.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

We've had very.

Speaker:

Uh, resilient ancestors that were able to make it through

Speaker:

really, really difficult times.

Speaker:

And, uh, you know, those genes are still in you, you still have that resilience.

Speaker:

We just have to practice it.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

It's a practice.

Speaker:

So anyways, that is.

Speaker:

The episode for today, it's all about leaning into that discomfort

Speaker:

and getting comfortable with it.

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

And we get comfortable with it by practice, right.

Speaker:

Practices, make perfect practice makes progress.

Speaker:

And as you practice it over and over, you can equip your tool

Speaker:

belt and become better at handling those situations in the future.

Speaker:

So don't let uncomfortability keep you from achieving your

Speaker:

goals and your passion in life.

Speaker:

Get after it.

Speaker:

Uh, you know, Face it head on and trust me, it will get easier for you.

Speaker:

Not necessarily because it just gets easier in general, but because you

Speaker:

get better at handling that situation.

Speaker:

So anyways, everybody that is going to do it for today's episode.

Speaker:

Thank you all so much for tuning into this mini Monday episode.

Speaker:

I hope you gained a lot of information from it.

Speaker:

And have grown a lot from this information.

Speaker:

Hopefully you can put into practice some of these, uh, these tips, you

Speaker:

know, like, so for example, if there's a situation that you don't like.

Speaker:

Uh, being in, uh, maybe next time, just go ahead in there and, and look

Speaker:

at it as a way of, of learning and expanding your tool belt, right.

Speaker:

Or maybe it's making yourself take a cold shower.

Speaker:

Uh, whatever it may be.

Speaker:

Go ahead and find that practice and start doing it today.

Speaker:

And aside from that, if you are not subscribed on whatever platform you

Speaker:

are listening to me on, then please go ahead and do so whether that's apple,
