On this week's Mini Monday episode, Evan shares his favorite tips on how to detoxify your house. Just as we take specific measure to detoxify our bodies, we also have to learn how to detoxify our house. We spend a lot of our time inside of our houses, but what if our houses are poisoning us? Most houses and for that matter most buildings are filled with hormone disruptors and stagnant air among many other things.

It's important that we treat our external environments the same way we treat our internal environments. We wouldn't eat a toxic substance that we know is not healthy for us, so then why do we spray them all over our houses? Tune in to learn what products you are using that are destroying the health of your home, and learn what easy swaps you can make to detoxify your house and keep it just as healthy as you are.

Do everything with good intentions and connect to your elements.

Speaker:

on, everybody.

Speaker:

Welcome back to the elemental oven show.

Speaker:

Thank you all so much for tuning in.

Speaker:

Once again, on this mini Monday episode today, we are going to be

Speaker:

talking about detoxifying your home.

Speaker:

This is a very important one, obviously, because we spend a lot of times in a

Speaker:

lot of time in our houses, especially now being that a lot of people are

Speaker:

able to do some remote work, which is amazing because we do not have to

Speaker:

travel as far and waste time doing so, but that means that we really

Speaker:

need to make sure that our homes are.

Speaker:

Are beneficial for us, right.

Speaker:

Beneficial for our families and everyone that is underneath the roof.

Speaker:

So we are going to really get into a few good topics today

Speaker:

on detoxifying your homes.

Speaker:

But before we do that, we're going to take a moment to talk about

Speaker:

detoxifying our bodies, right?

Speaker:

And my favorite way, personally, of detoxifying my body, or at

Speaker:

least my blood is definitely through the use of chlorophyll.

Speaker:

And so chlorophyll is very, very high in chlorella.

Speaker:

Kayla as well as spirulina.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Chlorophyll is essentially the thing that gives plants, its green pigment.

Speaker:

But it is very good at cleansing the blood and purifying it and removing

Speaker:

heavy metals and toxins from the blood.

Speaker:

So that is why every single day, I like to start my day off with some form of

Speaker:

chlorophyll, whether that is in the form of literally just chlorella and

Speaker:

spirulina, which I get from energy bits, or if it's through Organifi green

Speaker:

juice, which also has chlorella in it.

Speaker:

And I believe they also have spirulina in it as well.

Speaker:

They are the two most concentrated foods in the world.

Speaker:

In terms of chlorophyll, obviously eating green plants is going

Speaker:

to do this for you as well.

Speaker:

And just eating plants in general can be detoxifying, but.

Speaker:

But nonetheless, this is a really easy way for you and I to detoxify

Speaker:

our bodies every single day is to just get a high dose of this core

Speaker:

field, first thing in the morning.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

First thing, I always drink some water.

Speaker:

Maybe it has a little bit of lemon or even some salt in it

Speaker:

to give it some added minerals.

Speaker:

And I use very high quality salt.

Speaker:

But I follow that up usually with some form of chlorophyll.

Speaker:

And so, like I said, it's either through energy bits and their

Speaker:

tablets or through organic.

Speaker:

And I highly recommend that you do the same as well.

Speaker:

Uh, however you get the chlorophyll into your body is not really of

Speaker:

concern, but just as long as you're doing it and making sure that is a high

Speaker:

quality soil source of chlorophyll.

Speaker:

Is what's going to be most important, which is why I obviously trust

Speaker:

both of these brands and I highly recommend them to you as well.

Speaker:

Organify they, you know, third party tests, all of their products make

Speaker:

sure that they are glyphosate free.

Speaker:

They're obviously organic and just some of the highest quality products.

Speaker:

And you get a 20% discount code just for being a listener of the show.

Speaker:

If you go to the show notes and click on their link for Organifi.

Speaker:

There will also be a code right there that gives you 20% off your entire order.

Speaker:

So you can go ahead and get more than just the green juice, but I

Speaker:

highly recommend the green juice.

Speaker:

It tastes delicious, which is really hard to do because I've had a lot

Speaker:

of green juices that are not so tasty, uh, to say the least, but.

Speaker:

I highly recommend this green juice for both its taste and

Speaker:

its efficacy and its purity.

Speaker:

It is a great form and way to get chlorophyll into your body.

Speaker:

First thing in the morning, or you could go the other route with energy Bates,

Speaker:

which I also have a discount code for all of you, just for being a listener.

Speaker:

Once again, it's in the show notes and you will see the discount code right

Speaker:

there for 20% off your entire order.

Speaker:

So go ahead and detoxify your bodies.

Speaker:

That is a good place to start, but then we need to move in to the household, right?

Speaker:

Because obviously we can clean ourselves from within, but if we are

Speaker:

not in a good environment, eventually toxins will get back into our body.

Speaker:

And they will wreak havoc.

Speaker:

So my favorite ways to detoxify a home are to first start off.

Speaker:

And this is probably the most common thing I see in every household.

Speaker:

Is synthetic fragrances.

Speaker:

People love to have candles.

Speaker:

Don't get me wrong.

Speaker:

I love candles as well.

Speaker:

I have quite a few of them in my house, but all of my candles are typically

Speaker:

based off of beeswax and coconut oil.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I really try to stick to those two.

Speaker:

Those are some of the cleanest burning ones personally.

Speaker:

And on top of that, I make sure that all the candles I purchase.

Speaker:

Are using real fragrance, right?

Speaker:

They are using things like essential oils to create their scent.

Speaker:

They are not using these synthetic fragrances or, um, I believe.

Speaker:

Oh, I forgot the term, but it's something of in terms of being a perfume.

Speaker:

And what that means like a synthetic fragrance for example, is that it is

Speaker:

actually petroleum-based typically, which is really freaking bad.

Speaker:

Obviously, we do not want to be releasing this petroleum

Speaker:

into the air every single day.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

Typically, what I like to do is I like to spend a little extra on the

Speaker:

candles to make sure that a, they smell really good, but B that they

Speaker:

don't have any synthetic fragrances and, you know, they S they can use.

Speaker:

Essential oils, whatever kind of fragrance that you can think of that are more

Speaker:

natural based and they smell incredible.

Speaker:

Uh, it's just cheaper to produce them with the synthetic fragrances and a lower.

Speaker:

Uh, quality medium for the candles.

Speaker:

Now I know candles are amazing.

Speaker:

They can make your household smell amazing.

Speaker:

But personally, if I were you, I would switch over to a much cleaner form

Speaker:

of a candle or even an essential oil.

Speaker:

A diffuser.

Speaker:

Those are going to be the top two things to use, or even

Speaker:

you could use some incense.

Speaker:

You can burn some incense in the house as well.

Speaker:

Those three things are going to be really great for making

Speaker:

your house smell incredible without having all that toxicity.

Speaker:

You know, being released into the air and then, you know, obviously being

Speaker:

breathed in by you, which is just not going to be good for the lungs and the

Speaker:

health and the air quality of your house.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

Moving over to those things is going to be key.

Speaker:

And on top of that, if you see those little Glade plugins or

Speaker:

anything like that, that is 100% synthetic fragrance, 150000%.

Speaker:

And what those synthetic fragrances are also going to do is they're

Speaker:

going to be hormone disruptors.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

If you are dealing with hormonal issues, which actually all, a lot of people

Speaker:

are dealing with hormonal issues.

Speaker:

We are having, you know, our hormones thrown out of whack men's

Speaker:

testosterone levels are extremely low.

Speaker:

Women can experience, you know, really high estrogen.

Speaker:

They can be having PCO S.

Speaker:

Uh, a variety of things.

Speaker:

And I can promise you that these synthetic fragrances are not helping.

Speaker:

They're actually doing much more harm.

Speaker:

Now, this is also going to leak over into your beauty care products,

Speaker:

which are really unregulated.

Speaker:

Now I am not going to get too deep into this because Wednesday's

Speaker:

episode is going to be amazing.

Speaker:

It's going to be on ovarian health and I am super excited for this one.

Speaker:

And I will also dive in to our self care products and.

Speaker:

Why it is so bad to be applying the synthetic products onto our skin and

Speaker:

what it can do to the hormones, but for this episode, Just understand

Speaker:

that synthetic fragrances and most of the beauty care products out

Speaker:

there are very, very bad for you.

Speaker:

So switching that up is going to be key for balancing your

Speaker:

hormones or at least keeping them from getting thrown out of whack.

Speaker:

So that's going to be the first thing.

Speaker:

Getting rid of the synthetic fragrances.

Speaker:

Now this also falls over into household cleaners, right?

Speaker:

There's a lot of household cleaning items that have synthetic fragrances and

Speaker:

also they have really harsh and harmful chemicals in them, which obviously

Speaker:

can clean countertops quite well.

Speaker:

But what is that doing to your lungs?

Speaker:

And on top of that, we live in too clean of a society.

Speaker:

Sometimes, you know, when we're putting hand sanitizer on at all times, Throughout

Speaker:

the day, constantly washing our hands.

Speaker:

Your body actually has bacteria and viruses all over all the time.

Speaker:

And really what's happening is when you are exposed to these bacteria

Speaker:

and viruses, your body has to learn to respond to them and to become

Speaker:

strong and fortify your immune system.

Speaker:

So while I'm not saying to, you know, go dip your hands in some

Speaker:

manure and then cook some food.

Speaker:

I am saying that you don't need to be.

Speaker:

Necessarily as you know, antibacteria and, and viruses, as you know,

Speaker:

we all are being right now, you can actually relax a little bit.

Speaker:

Um, keep your house clean.

Speaker:

I'm not saying to not do that, but when you do clean, what I am saying

Speaker:

is to move to a cleaner, cleaner,

Speaker:

So literally something that is better in terms of the

Speaker:

quality of ingredients, right?

Speaker:

So we want to get rid of these chemicals, get rid of these synthetic

Speaker:

fragrances and move over to, you know, in terms of household cleaners,

Speaker:

vinegar is an incredible cleaner baking soda can be incredible.

Speaker:

Um, certain essential oils are naturally antibacterial like lavender.

Speaker:

Um, and I believe.

Speaker:

Might be eucalyptus or peppermint as well.

Speaker:

Uh, don't quote me on those ones.

Speaker:

I know LA lavender is 100% though.

Speaker:

So, you know, you can literally get a spray bottle, pour some water,

Speaker:

put a little, a bit of vinegar in there and a little essential

Speaker:

oil, maybe some baking soda.

Speaker:

If you wanted to go that route as well.

Speaker:

And that is going to be a much cleaner, cleaner for your

Speaker:

countertops for all surfaces, really.

Speaker:

And on that note, um, Dave Asprey actually has a few cleaners as well through his

Speaker:

company home biotic, which kind of leads me into the next topic, which is mold.

Speaker:

Mold is.

Speaker:

Very very bad for our health.

Speaker:

And it is in a lot of houses without even knowing it.

Speaker:

A water can wreak havoc on a house, obviously.

Speaker:

And when water, for example, if there's a leak in a pipe in the walls, or, um, if

Speaker:

you live in a very humid area or if you shower and you just never allowed the.

Speaker:

You know, humidity to escape that room.

Speaker:

The chances are there's going to be mold in that area.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

Using cleaners like home biotic, which is a product of Dave Asprey.

Speaker:

Is a great idea.

Speaker:

He actually has developed this bacteria that is a good bacteria.

Speaker:

And after you clean the area that might have mold, you can then spray the home

Speaker:

biotic on there and it will actually eat the mold and the bad bacteria.

Speaker:

It is really an incredible product.

Speaker:

Um, I have it myself.

Speaker:

I haven't really been able to test it out on mold and see, you know, over

Speaker:

a couple of weeks, like what happens.

Speaker:

But nonetheless, it is an incredible, at least idea.

Speaker:

And I would highly recommend doing that if you live in a very humid area.

Speaker:

A place that is really prone to moisture, or just naturally

Speaker:

has a lot of mold growing.

Speaker:

And the reason mold is so bad for you.

Speaker:

Uh, I can.

Speaker:

Tell you that Dave Asprey will blow your mind in terms of how bad it is for you.

Speaker:

But to just give you an idea, like it can really cause a lot of allergic

Speaker:

symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, itching, coughing,

Speaker:

and like even actually allergies.

Speaker:

Uh, it can cause difficulty breathing, headaches, fatigue.

Speaker:

Uh, it can also, I believe, mess with your hormones and Dave Asprey, I think

Speaker:

was saying that it not only was terrible for his testosterone levels, but it

Speaker:

also really impacted his weight gain.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

Making sure that our houses are mold-free is a very good idea.

Speaker:

So a few ways to do it are obviously through the home

Speaker:

biotic product to get rid of it.

Speaker:

Keeping your windows open a little bit more to allow some fresh air

Speaker:

to come through the house and kind of clear out all the stagnant air

Speaker:

and also dry out the house as well.

Speaker:

You could even, for example, by certain air, um, Well, I guess

Speaker:

you'd call it an air freshener, but, uh, like an air purifier.

Speaker:

Sorry, not freshener.

Speaker:

Uh, an air purifier, they have specific ones designed actually

Speaker:

for mold and mold prevention.

Speaker:

So looking into those could be a really good idea as well.

Speaker:

And since I'm here on the topic of air quality, I also would highly recommend

Speaker:

that you get a few plants in your house.

Speaker:

The reason having some plants in your house is a good idea is because

Speaker:

they obviously release oxygen.

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

And so there are certain plants that are, you know, very specifically good

Speaker:

at releasing high levels of oxygen.

Speaker:

So those could be good ones to have in your room.

Speaker:

Like I believe the snake plant is really good at that.

Speaker:

Um, there's also certain plants that are just really good at, uh,

Speaker:

purifying the air in your house.

Speaker:

So looking into a few of those would be a really great idea to help

Speaker:

purify the air quality in your house.

Speaker:

And help you to breathe better.

Speaker:

This can literally help out with seasonal allergies, asthma,

Speaker:

all of those kinds of symptoms.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

Those are going to be.

Speaker:

The main things is getting rid of your synthetic fragrances,

Speaker:

whether that's in your beauty care products, your household cleaners.

Speaker:

Um, you know, candles, whatever it may be.

Speaker:

Uh, we really want to remove those because of its ability to disrupt our hormones.

Speaker:

And then we also want to make sure we are cleaning out any mold that could

Speaker:

be accumulating in our house and doing everything possible to prevent the

Speaker:

growth of mold because of the impact that it can have on our health, in

Speaker:

terms of our hormones and also weight gain, headaches, fatigue, all of that

Speaker:

stuff that I was mentioning earlier.

Speaker:

And last but not least is the air quality, which like I said, you can do air

Speaker:

purifiers as well as, you know, cracking the windows here and there to kind.

Speaker:

Move the air in the house and also have some house plants that are really

Speaker:

good at purifying the air, or even giving off a lot of oxygen to improve

Speaker:

the quality of the air in your house.

Speaker:

So that is how, if I were you, I would detox my house and it is things that I

Speaker:

try to do on the regular, in my own house.

Speaker:

For example, I do not purchase synthetic fragrances in pretty

Speaker:

much any product that I use.

Speaker:

And, you know, in terms of mold, I do my best to clean up

Speaker:

with the home biotic product.

Speaker:

The next step for me would be to get the air purifier.

Speaker:

And in terms of air quality, I have a lot of plants in my house and I do tend

Speaker:

to keep windows cracked to kind of allow some air flow when I'm here at the house.

Speaker:

And.

Speaker:

Yeah, that's essentially the main things that I do to detoxify my house and keep

Speaker:

it as healthy for both myself and Ashley, and also keep it smelling fresh and good

Speaker:

and feeling like a homey place to be so.

Speaker:

Anyways, I hope these tips helped you.

Speaker:

And hopefully this was not too long of a Monday mini episode.

Speaker:

I know I went a little bit longer here, but there was a lot

Speaker:

of good information to cover.

Speaker:

So I hope you now know how to detoxify your home as well as detoxify

Speaker:

your blood with the chlorophyll.

Speaker:

And yeah, that's going to do it for today's episode.

Speaker:

As I said, this Wednesday's episode is going to be incredible.

Speaker:

It's going to be on the topic of ovaries as well as a bit of estrogen

Speaker:

and the, uh, female hormones.

Speaker:

Uh, you know, specifically.

Speaker:

And yeah, it's going to be incredible.

Speaker:

I'm super excited for it.

Speaker:

So please stay tuned for that on Wednesday.
