Speaker:

Hey, what's going on, everybody.

Speaker:

Welcome back to the elemental Evan show.

Speaker:

Thank you all so much for tuning in on this beautiful wellness Wednesday today,

Speaker:

I'm joined by a very special guest.

Speaker:

As all of the guests on this show are very, very special and they all have

Speaker:

something very important to communicate to you and hopefully help you out in

Speaker:

your lives with whatever you're dealing with in terms of health and wellness.

Speaker:

Now in keeping with the mental health awareness theme of this month, which

Speaker:

although this episode will be coming out, I believe in the following month.

Speaker:

Uh, still nonetheless, I recorded it during mental health awareness month and

Speaker:

today's guest is actually going to be Dr.

Speaker:

Sarah Russo.

Speaker:

She's a pharmacist.

Speaker:

And in this episode, we are going to be talking a lot about

Speaker:

anxiety and depression, as well as a more natural alternative to.

Speaker:

Really helping to cure slash take care of slash benefit.

Speaker:

Anyone dealing with anxiety or depression.

Speaker:

Now being a pharmacist, Dr.

Speaker:

Sarah Russo was able to see that a lot of the current medications we have for things

Speaker:

like anxiety and depression can actually lead people to getting even worse.

Speaker:

And, you know, we see those commercials where.

Speaker:

Uh, some of the side effects can even include suicide, which is obviously the

Speaker:

thing we were completely trying to avoid.

Speaker:

If you are getting to a mental health.

Speaker:

Uh, state of feeling suicidal.

Speaker:

That is not where we want to be, obviously.

Speaker:

So while that is the current medication situation, and this is not me trying to

Speaker:

knock down all medications, because I do believe there are some medications out

Speaker:

there that have a lot of efficacy and also remember everyone's body is different.

Speaker:

So what might work for one person might not work for another.

Speaker:

So of course I would never put it into a category of completely all being bad.

Speaker:

But nonetheless, I am all about finding things that are a little bit more natural

Speaker:

as well as having lower side effects.

Speaker:

And when I say natural here, of course, all pharmaceuticals are

Speaker:

in some way derive from nature.

Speaker:

Of course, everything is from nature.

Speaker:

Um, but I mean, something that's just a little bit more closer

Speaker:

related to a whole food source.

Speaker:

Um, similar to my supplements as well.

Speaker:

I usually try to take stuff that's closer to a whole food source.

Speaker:

And like I said, with lower side effects, if even none at if possible now, Dr.

Speaker:

Sarah Russo is partnered with a company and they have found a way and

Speaker:

an alternative to really helping out with mental health illnesses that has.

Speaker:

No side effects.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

It's incredible.

Speaker:

I'm really happy to hear that there are things out there.

Speaker:

Um, you know, that we're constantly trying to innovate and invent new

Speaker:

things and ways to kind of combat this issue that we're all going through.

Speaker:

And.

Speaker:

In this episode, Dr.

Speaker:

Sarah Russo is going to dive deep into how this patch, the restore patch is

Speaker:

going to benefit, uh, anyone going through things like anxiety, depression, PTSD.

Speaker:

Um, sleep issues, uh, ADHD, all kinds of different things and how there is

Speaker:

literally no side effect to it, which is incredible because I always recommend

Speaker:

people starting at a place where the side effects are little to none.

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

If you can always start somewhere, even if it doesn't work in the first place,

Speaker:

at least there's no side effect to it.

Speaker:

Now this is a product that I have not personally tried myself.

Speaker:

And of course I want to be completely transparent with all

Speaker:

of my listeners and let you know when I have tried a product and.

Speaker:

When I haven't.

Speaker:

And for this one, I have not tried it.

Speaker:

It doesn't mean that it doesn't have efficacy to it because of

Speaker:

course there are a ton of people who have reviewed it and love it.

Speaker:

So by all means, go ahead and check out the website.

Speaker:

It will be linked in the show notes.

Speaker:

And of course it will be mentioned in this episode, but definitely go

Speaker:

check it out for yourself and read the reviews, see what you think.

Speaker:

And on that note, you're going to get the opportunity to have

Speaker:

a free sample of these patches.

Speaker:

So definitely listen to this episode.

Speaker:

So you can hear about that a free sample pack as well.

Speaker:

Uh, it will be linked in the show notes, so you can always find it there.

Speaker:

And on the last note here.

Speaker:

I just wanted to take a moment and talk a little bit about one of my

Speaker:

favorite supplements that I take.

Speaker:

And as you all know, I try to keep my supplements as close to

Speaker:

a whole food source as possible.

Speaker:

Now with the exclusion of a multivitamin, which contains a few ingredients

Speaker:

that I specifically need and find that it is the best way to obtain

Speaker:

them is through this multivitamin.

Speaker:

But aside from that, I have only medicinal mushrooms.

Speaker:

Uh, you know, whole food source.

Speaker:

Ingredients such as ashwagandha and tumeric and just things that are much

Speaker:

more whole food-based and you already know, I love the medicinal mushrooms.

Speaker:

Those always make it into my supplements.

Speaker:

And as well, Organifi all of their juices, their juice powder blends are incredible.

Speaker:

But on top of all of that, I also take spirulina and chlorella, which if anything

Speaker:

is very redundant because inorganic.

Speaker:

In their green juice.

Speaker:

It already has spirulina, which I take pretty much daily, but the spirulina

Speaker:

and chlorella are so powerful and so beneficial for us that I actually take

Speaker:

additional amounts of it on their own.

Speaker:

And there's really.

Speaker:

Pretty much just one source that I trust aside from obviously

Speaker:

what I'm getting in Organifi.

Speaker:

And that is from energy bits.

Speaker:

Energy bits has the cleanest, spirulina and chlorella that I have found anywhere

Speaker:

truly using spring water that is purified in a controlled environment,

Speaker:

making sure that we are getting the highest quality spirulina and chlorella.

Speaker:

That's going to be high in protein.

Speaker:

And if you didn't know, spirulina is, uh, containing all essential

Speaker:

amino acids, meaning the ones that we can't create on our own.

Speaker:

And we must receive through a food source.

Speaker:

And plus the chlorophyll content is so high in both of these allergies.

Speaker:

And these are really, really great for cleaning our blood of heavy metals and

Speaker:

toxins, which is so important because if you are a fish lover like myself,

Speaker:

we probably come across more heavy metals than we would care to know about.

Speaker:

And this is just a great way to hopefully stay on top of getting those heavy metals

Speaker:

out of our blood and keeping us healthy.

Speaker:

And functioning at our top level performance.

Speaker:

If you want to go ahead and get yourself some of these energy bits,

Speaker:

which I highly, highly recommend they're very cost efficient.

Speaker:

Uh, they last you a really long time.

Speaker:

Go ahead and check out the show notes for the link to energy bits.

Speaker:

And of course, for being a listener to this show, you're going to get 20% off.

Speaker:

Check out the details in the show notes to find the discount code for the 20%

Speaker:

off and go ahead and get yourself some energy bits, whether it's the chlorophyll

Speaker:

or the spirulina or the combination of the two, you're going to love them.

Speaker:

I promise they do some really, really great things in your body.

Speaker:

All right, everyone on that note, let's go ahead and jump into today's show.

Speaker:

I hope you really enjoy this episode and get a.

Speaker:

Ton of knowledge from Dr.

Speaker:

Sarah Russo.

Speaker:

And enjoy the show.

Speaker:

Welcome back to the Elemental Evan Show.

Speaker:

Thank you all for joining us on this beautiful episode today.

Speaker:

Today I'm joined by Dr.

Speaker:

Sarah Russo.

Speaker:

She is a pharmacist, as well as a rep for the Restore patch, which we're definitely

Speaker:

gonna dive into this topic today.

Speaker:

But overall, we're gonna talk a lot about.

Speaker:

Uh, anxiety as well as the mental health crisis that is going on here in the us.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Uh, so welcome to the show, Dr.

Speaker:

Sarah Russo.

Speaker:

Thanks Evan for having me.

Speaker:

I'm excited to be here and to, um, teach everybody a little bit about some

Speaker:

holistic medication that we found to help people with mental health and anxiety.

Speaker:

, super excited to have you on and, um, what I want to start with is really just

Speaker:

kind of your story, like your background.

Speaker:

Um, I think that's very important and mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Uh, for myself as well, it's, it's why I do podcasting.

Speaker:

It's why I'm in the health and wellness sphere.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Um, so please, uh, start off with how you.

Speaker:

Found your way to where you're at now.

Speaker:

Um, what led you to be a pharmacist as well as to go

Speaker:

down this kind of holistic path?

Speaker:

Um, well, I've been a pharmacist for over 20 years.

Speaker:

Um, you know, back before it was like cool to be a pharmacist, so, um, you know, it

Speaker:

was a real hard program back in the day.

Speaker:

I don't know about now, but like, I went to the University of Connecticut,

Speaker:

so I still had my fun back in college.

Speaker:

And you know, I, I, I've had a very interesting journey.

Speaker:

Not only been a pharmacist, I've also been on tv.

Speaker:

You know, we went down different roads of interviewing country music

Speaker:

artists in Nashville to coming back.

Speaker:

To the pandemic.

Speaker:

And then I have my own podcast as well called Sessions with Sarah.

Speaker:

And that I started to get a lot of different, um, doctors, experts,

Speaker:

celebrities, come on, and we would talk about different things.

Speaker:

And through that journey you meet a lot of amazing people.

Speaker:

And I was doing some voiceover work for this company, which is Restore Patch.

Speaker:

And there was such a huge connection with the owners because what they came

Speaker:

up with for a holistic answer to mental health and anxiety is just so genius.

Speaker:

And I think it's going to change the way we treat, you know, veterans,

Speaker:

teenagers, people like myself with anxiety, um, down the road.

Speaker:

Yeah, no, that's, uh, definitely amazing.

Speaker:

And, and, you know, In terms of, you know, this whole, uh, anxiety and just

Speaker:

the mental health crisis going on in America, and, you know, largely, I think

Speaker:

in many parts of the world, but mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Um, I like have you ever dealt with any, uh, anxiety or kind of

Speaker:

mental health issues of your own?

Speaker:

Uh, I, I know that for myself, I, I generally don't, uh, have.

Speaker:

Terrible anxiety mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Or depression or anything, which I, you know, knock on wood,

Speaker:

and I'm very grateful for this.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Um, but you know, there's definitely been episodes here and there.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

And, um, I, I think it's, uh, it's definitely for me, it's

Speaker:

something that like, I like to talk about and bring awareness to.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

But I actually haven't been super far down that road, whereas with.

Speaker:

Gut health.

Speaker:

I can talk for hours because I, that's another topic You've been through that.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

That's another topic we can talk about sometime.

Speaker:

Um, well, it's, it's funny, I've always thought, like my mom's always

Speaker:

called me a warrior war, so I've always been a warrior my whole life.

Speaker:

But 2019, I was going to work, I was hit unexpectedly on the highway

Speaker:

and rolled down the highway three times and lived to tell about it.

Speaker:

But I did have a bad concussion, which made everything worse.

Speaker:

So this was like probably the first time in my life where I just felt I.

Speaker:

If you look at all, you go back to all my like TV shows, like I loved life.

Speaker:

I had so much energy and all of a sudden I didn't have that anymore.

Speaker:

And I still think to this day it's changed me.

Speaker:

You know, they talk about cte E people have, you know, football

Speaker:

players who have concussions.

Speaker:

I do think it changes your personality a bit.

Speaker:

So when I, I would not take any, personally for me, I would not take any

Speaker:

prescribed medications that are controlled substances because I see how people.

Speaker:

Um, are, when they're on them, they're really doped up.

Speaker:

They're numb to life.

Speaker:

They can't, like I've even had, um, a friend say, you know, One time I was

Speaker:

just panicking and I took one and she goes, I just felt like so numb to life.

Speaker:

They're in a, like a haze.

Speaker:

And then you become addicted to that feeling and then it's hard to

Speaker:

get off that kind of medication.

Speaker:

So I would never personally take something like that knowing that,

Speaker:

that that's how you could become.

Speaker:

I'm not looking to numb myself.

Speaker:

I just wanna be myself and have that energy level and like, Not worry

Speaker:

about everything because you know, when you get back in a car, you're

Speaker:

afraid somebody's gonna hate you.

Speaker:

Like it's strange thoughts that happen.

Speaker:

So when I started trying out the restore patch, which is actually a small, tiny

Speaker:

patch, I'm gonna show it to you guys.

Speaker:

Um, it has three M tapes, so it's really good.

Speaker:

So it, this one is the anxiety patch.

Speaker:

You put this on right behind your, um, neck here, and you

Speaker:

leave it on for three days.

Speaker:

And you know, at first I was like, is this really gonna stay on?

Speaker:

Like if you're taking a shower or whatnot?

Speaker:

But it's so sticky.

Speaker:

I actually have a hard time getting it off on the third day.

Speaker:

But what it does is it has this copper wire they came up with, like

Speaker:

if you have a, you know, you see on those infomercials, those copper

Speaker:

wire things for the knees, and it helps people ailments that way.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Well, with Einstein and like even Elon Musk with Tesla, they found

Speaker:

that copper, it has like these, like it works with energies.

Speaker:

So when you have a copper wire in here, it has no drugs.

Speaker:

But what it does is like when you are.

Speaker:

So anxious when you're in that anxiety realm, you hype.

Speaker:

I say like, I'm being really hyped right now.

Speaker:

I can't even focus.

Speaker:

I'm out of control like in my own head, but I don't tell people that.

Speaker:

But now I just did.

Speaker:

But, um, what it does is it works with the energies and sinks up.

Speaker:

So when you're hype like that, the copper wire works to calm you down.

Speaker:

So the two energies will come together to kind of calm you in your system.

Speaker:

So it's just like incredible what they've come up with to do that.

Speaker:

And it, it's drug free, so it doesn't have anything that's

Speaker:

making you exhausted or doped up.

Speaker:

It's just working with the energies and the frequencies within your own system.

Speaker:

So that's cool.

Speaker:

Wow.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

No, that's, that, that is incredible.

Speaker:

Um, definitely something I'm, uh, curious to like, tell others to try.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Because, uh, like, and, and see what their, um, see what their results are.

Speaker:

But what really kind of intrigued me on that right now was.

Speaker:

Uh, so I'm a certified yoga in, uh, instructor.

Speaker:

Oh, cool.

Speaker:

I love yoga.

Speaker:

Yoga.

Speaker:

I miss my yoga.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Actually here recently I haven't done very much yoga, so I'm, I'm

Speaker:

definitely missing it as well.

Speaker:

Oh, okay.

Speaker:

But I, I, I remember during my, uh, during my yoga teacher training, they

Speaker:

had, uh, these things called vares, and they were made out of complete,

Speaker:

completely made out of coffee.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

And you would hold them around your head like this, stop and move them and yeah.

Speaker:

And so when you were saying that, I was like, that's so wild.

Speaker:

Because while you were doing that, it, it would kind of bring like a sense of calm.

Speaker:

And to me I was kinda like, why?

Speaker:

Maybe it's cuz I'm also like, right.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Like, exactly.

Speaker:

But it was, I was thinking like, maybe I'm just in such a meditative seat.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

That that's why I'm feeling common and I'm by a beach in Thailand.

Speaker:

Like, yeah.

Speaker:

Hard to be not calm.

Speaker:

Exactly.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Um, but nonetheless, it, it did, uh, it did bring a sense of calm and uh, so it

Speaker:

was very interesting when you mentioned that there was that copper wire in there.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Um, yeah.

Speaker:

And, and then on top of that as well, there's like the grounding pads that

Speaker:

you can have for your bed or for your work desk, which connect to the earth

Speaker:

and they're usually through copper.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Um, and so, and that like is decreasing inflammation.

Speaker:

So I, I see that there could definitely be, uh, something going on here, but

Speaker:

I'm very, very intrigued by that.

Speaker:

Isn't it cool to, to see Yeah.

Speaker:

Oh, it's amazing.

Speaker:

It's absolutely amazing.

Speaker:

And also I, I think, uh, What, what you mentioned with, you know, how

Speaker:

intense a lot of these drugs can be.

Speaker:

Of course, you know, um, each person is unique and if it works for you, great.

Speaker:

But I know that there are a lot of people out there who have a

Speaker:

lot of difficulty with addiction.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

With, um, also, like you said, like filling in that haze.

Speaker:

I mean, I, I played, uh, football back in high school.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

And I did.

Speaker:

I got a concussion.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I messed up my neck super bad, and I was out of it for a few days.

Speaker:

And so they gave me, uh, a Vicodin and a muscle relaxer.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Uh, or a muscle relaxant.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Relaxer.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

When I took it, I only took it, I took it one day and it totally put me out.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Like I, my grandparents came over to take care of me, and I was like,

Speaker:

couldn't even, I was like, I'm done.

Speaker:

I need to go lay down.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Like, I can't focus.

Speaker:

Um, and I didn't take it after that cause I was just like,

Speaker:

yeah, it's, it's not for me.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Um, but yeah, so I, I'm, I'm.

Speaker:

All about hearing anything that is, you know, very low on the risk side.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Or the, uh, you know, potential, um, effects that it can have on you and, and

Speaker:

very high or even at least possibility of having some good outcome, you know?

Speaker:

Oh, no, I totally agree.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Um, and, um, the, not only like, well, mental health and anxiety, they have had

Speaker:

a couple studies with PST D and veterans.

Speaker:

And, um, the veterans that have taken and using, using this in replacement

Speaker:

for the medication that they've been prescribed, they're actually

Speaker:

doing better by using this patch.

Speaker:

Um, because mental health is like, that's 22% of people are suffering from that.

Speaker:

So we're talking 50 million people in the American culture, right?

Speaker:

So we have teenagers.

Speaker:

Number two, suicide is their, like, biggest killer because they're all

Speaker:

like, you know, they have anxieties, um, veterans, you know, 20 veterans

Speaker:

a day kill themselves by suicide.

Speaker:

So if we could come up with a better way of treating this without medication,

Speaker:

and sometimes that medication can bring on those suicidal deaths of

Speaker:

side effects, suicidal thoughts, and then this happens to them.

Speaker:

We live in a weird world, don't you think?

Speaker:

Like, When I was younger, I didn't have social media, so I I,

Speaker:

we didn't get bullied that way.

Speaker:

We just got bullied in school.

Speaker:

But, you know what I'm saying?

Speaker:

But it continues on.

Speaker:

It's just the mental health crisis for young kids and veterans I think is really,

Speaker:

really important to concentrate on.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Um, I, I, I a hundred percent agree and I was just, uh, I just saw

Speaker:

on a PBS news hour, uh, episode that was on, um, there was.

Speaker:

I can't remember what her titles were, but she was very qualified and

Speaker:

she was saying that there's a lot of studies out there right now stating

Speaker:

that, um, like over, around or over 60% of the American population, uh,

Speaker:

report feeling, uh, feeling lonely.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Frequently, basically, so throughout their day.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

So there's like 60% of the population that feels this disconnect, right?

Speaker:

This like, no, no sense of community, which is massive.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

And, uh, for myself personally, um, I, I, I attend a, a men's group.

Speaker:

And mm-hmm.

Speaker:

I kind of thought it was a weird thing at first, like, Hmm.

Speaker:

But the people were cool.

Speaker:

And so I just went for it and turned out to be like, one of the best things for me.

Speaker:

Like, um, of course I have my own friends and I love like, speaking

Speaker:

with them, but it's also nice to just go to this group and check in.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Uh, once a week and just kind of like, see where you're sitting

Speaker:

that week and, and what's going on.

Speaker:

And, and then everyone, uh, will chime in a little bit and, and give a little piece

Speaker:

of advice and just that camaraderie Right.

Speaker:

And kind of having that sense of connection.

Speaker:

Does wonders for the, for the mind and for the overall sense of wellbeing.

Speaker:

I mean, I would walk away from those, uh, meetings just feeling so much

Speaker:

lighter and, uh, it's incredible.

Speaker:

I, I think it's, it's something that we're really lacking right now.

Speaker:

Yeah, I mean, that's a great way to even like, get rid of your stress and anxiety,

Speaker:

you know, just getting out there and it's nice to step outside the box from your

Speaker:

regular friends and just like, talk to other people and see how things are going.

Speaker:

Um, I think that's really important as well too.

Speaker:

So I think that that's why you don't need anything.

Speaker:

You're, you're just busy doing all that.

Speaker:

It's just nice.

Speaker:

You always do feel better, you know, like if I see the same people over and over,

Speaker:

like your colleagues at work or anything.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

It gets kinda like stale, so then it's not fun, you know?

Speaker:

But yeah, I don't know.

Speaker:

It's just like I feel bad for all these kids growing up

Speaker:

in this kind of society now.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And, and so what, what do you think is kind of the, cuz obviously like

Speaker:

anxiety and depression, these are terms that when I was young and I'm

Speaker:

sure when you were young it was kind of like stuff you didn't really hear

Speaker:

too much about, like maybe occasion it was taboo, nobody talked about it.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah, maybe that's what it was.

Speaker:

Maybe nobody talked about it.

Speaker:

It was taboo and that's why we didn't hear from that.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So it just swept under the rug.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I mean, yeah, going to therapy was like taboo.

Speaker:

People don't talk about, people talk about it all the time now, so maybe

Speaker:

that's what's brought it to the forefront, but we know that that's there.

Speaker:

Um, another thing too is like, we know like people are sleeplessness.

Speaker:

We have sleep patches too for people, and then we have an a H D.

Speaker:

A d h D one coming out too.

Speaker:

Speaking of kids, kids are overmedicated with these Adderall prescriptions.

Speaker:

That's another topic for another day.

Speaker:

But, um, I think a lot of adults too, when there was an Adderall mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Crisis the last few months where it's in a shortage right now.

Speaker:

The main patients calling, looking for it, were adults.

Speaker:

It's like, okay, we, we, wow.

Speaker:

So we're getting, like with the America, we have such access and

Speaker:

we have pharmaceutical companies pushing, pushing, pushing.

Speaker:

Cuz the dollar, the bottom line's a dollar.

Speaker:

So, you know what restore patch is done is they're gonna probably,

Speaker:

I feel like, break that world.

Speaker:

So, you know what I mean?

Speaker:

It's, it's gonna be wild to get people to know about it, but it's really incredible.

Speaker:

To have these patches right now.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Well, It, it starts with this, it starts with you, uh, doing exactly what

Speaker:

you're doing right now and, and, and speaking from the mountaintop as much

Speaker:

as you can to, to spread this awareness.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And, uh, I'm curious, so in terms of the, you were saying like, okay, so

Speaker:

like you have one for anxiety, one for, uh, ADHD coming out and, uh, for sleep.

Speaker:

Uh, so in terms of the patches, like is it.

Speaker:

Uh, you said the anxiety one has like copper wiring in it.

Speaker:

Do they all have the copper?

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Are, are there other things that are in the patch?

Speaker:

Like how do, do you know really, uh, like what the differences are on those?

Speaker:

I, they do change like the, um, copper wire in each patch, but that is something

Speaker:

I always am like, I wish, um, John a Lotti, one of the creators would be here

Speaker:

cuz that guy could talk to you about kinetics and the physics of it all.

Speaker:

So I don't know how they change it up in each patch, but I've

Speaker:

tried them except for the adhd.

Speaker:

But even the sleep one is great too.

Speaker:

That one you put on your wrist here and you have to put a little

Speaker:

band over it to keep that on, but you leave that on for three days.

Speaker:

A lot of women like who are in menopause too, like they have sleep problems.

Speaker:

They wake up at three in the morning, so it's really great patch for them.

Speaker:

But it's all holistic, it's all drug free, and honestly, there's no side effects.

Speaker:

Like how incredible.

Speaker:

And if you're feeling better with that, I think that's a great thing.

Speaker:

They have a 60 day money back guarantee, so like, you have nothing to lose here,

Speaker:

just try it if you're feeling this way.

Speaker:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker:

No, uh, anything that has.

Speaker:

Zero side effect.

Speaker:

It's zero effect.

Speaker:

This is absolutely, yeah.

Speaker:

I mean it's uh, if people are so willing to try stuff that

Speaker:

has a crazy side effect to it.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

You know, but, um, I always, I like to say, if you can start.

Speaker:

You know, at the minimum, right?

Speaker:

Like something that's gonna have very low, like side effects, right?

Speaker:

Causal, anything like that, that should probably be where you should start, right?

Speaker:

Like Correct.

Speaker:

Try those out.

Speaker:

See, see what happens.

Speaker:

If it works for you, amazing.

Speaker:

Right, right.

Speaker:

If it doesn't, okay.

Speaker:

Move to the next thing.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Um, but in terms of, of seeing anxiety and depression, I know

Speaker:

we were just saying like maybe it was just swept under the rug.

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

But do you think that it is, uh, Largely in part to social media, like

Speaker:

what, what, what do you really see as being kind of the main cause of

Speaker:

this rise in anxiety and depression?

Speaker:

I think everybody's comparing themselves to each other.

Speaker:

Take Instagram for example.

Speaker:

I'm guilty of it too.

Speaker:

I've a pretty decent following, but like I'll be like, Oh wait, I'm

Speaker:

not as skinny as that girl anymore.

Speaker:

And then I have to like, bring myself to reality.

Speaker:

Stop comparing myself and be like, okay, I'm 20 years older.

Speaker:

I was just that skinny back then too, so, haha.

Speaker:

Like, look at me, I'm doing fine in my forties.

Speaker:

You know what I mean?

Speaker:

Um, but everybody, like, for me that's sometimes I'm looking amazing too.

Speaker:

Thanks.

Speaker:

But like comparison wise, it's just like, that's what people are doing.

Speaker:

So you have kids that are like trying to compete with, um, Right

Speaker:

now on TikTok, the, the biggest star is this girl Alex Earl.

Speaker:

Well, Alex Earl has had, and, and no, this is no dis, but she's had, you know,

Speaker:

a lot of plastic surgery, her nose, her, her boobs, she's even had her lips done.

Speaker:

So these kids, and she's out partying and drinking all the time.

Speaker:

But these kids are like wanting to have that lifestyle.

Speaker:

The social media makes you want that, but she comes from a more

Speaker:

privileged background than most people.

Speaker:

So she's, you know what I mean?

Speaker:

So these kids, Are these kids are seeing this stuff projected and they wanna

Speaker:

be like these people, and then that makes 'em feel sad about themselves.

Speaker:

Or like, I'm not as pretty as this person, but there's a lot of

Speaker:

manufacturing that goes into that person too, or kind of financials.

Speaker:

So I think that's really hard for a lot of the kids, especially girls.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And I, I definitely feel like with social media, and I mean, I think everyone to

Speaker:

a degree is pretty much guilty of this.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

But it's like, it really is kind of a highlight of your life.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

It is kind of the peaks of every moment of the best food, of the best trip.

Speaker:

Uh, you know, it's, it's not the long hours you're putting in at work.

Speaker:

Nope.

Speaker:

It's not, um, the difficulty in your relationship.

Speaker:

It's, you know, it's not all of the, the hardships.

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

And for me, I think.

Speaker:

You know, we talk about, um, kind of like being overly stimulated and

Speaker:

getting all these dopamine hits.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And really just focusing on the good.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

We get on there, we just see all this, wow.

Speaker:

Why, why is that so good for them?

Speaker:

And blah, blah, blah.

Speaker:

And then that comparison kicks in.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

And, you know, it's like we, we fail to remember all of the hardship

Speaker:

that everyone goes through and, you know, it's actually necessary.

Speaker:

Like, it's okay to have times of.

Speaker:

Of difficulty and of boredom, right?

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Like, I mean, that's a part of being a person.

Speaker:

Like there's boredom.

Speaker:

They're, you know, a kid, you go outside, Hey mom, dad, I'm bored.

Speaker:

Go outside day.

Speaker:

Exactly.

Speaker:

They don't do that.

Speaker:

They don't do that.

Speaker:

Exactly.

Speaker:

And, and so I think that's, I, I think that plays a really crucial role in, in

Speaker:

our mental health because, It's important for us to remember that like, life is

Speaker:

not gonna be beautiful all the time.

Speaker:

It's not gonna be the most amazing meal and the best time outside.

Speaker:

It's gonna be moments of, I'm bored, I'm working hard, I'm tired.

Speaker:

I need to go to bed at nine o'clock today cause I need to be up early.

Speaker:

Whatever, you know, whatever it may be.

Speaker:

It's, it's, uh, it's a total balance.

Speaker:

And I think that's something, um, I've really been trying to realize

Speaker:

within myself is, is to just enjoy kind of those lulls and, and

Speaker:

understand that it's gonna make.

Speaker:

The good times feel all the time.

Speaker:

I know.

Speaker:

I, every moment doesn't gonna have a peak, you know what I'm saying?

Speaker:

Like, I, I agree with you.

Speaker:

Like, sometimes there's not gonna be a million things going on.

Speaker:

Or even if, like you snee a snapshot of anybody doing a story, I,

Speaker:

it's, it's not, they may not even be having fun, let's be honest.

Speaker:

But it's just for fun, you know?

Speaker:

Make it look like it.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

But yeah, I know.

Speaker:

It's just hard, you know, for the, and then like, you know, if you have the

Speaker:

veterans coming home, you know, a lot of them have seen terrible things overseas.

Speaker:

I'd love that.

Speaker:

You know, not only do we have these patches, I love that they have rehabbed,

Speaker:

you know, and they should do this more, is rehab more dogs that, you know,

Speaker:

California has the overpopulation of dogs.

Speaker:

Why aren't we pulling them out of the shelters and training

Speaker:

them to be PSTD dogs for.

Speaker:

Veterans, there's so many things we could do better as a society,

Speaker:

especially for veterans who went overseas to fight for a freedom, right?

Speaker:

Like honestly, like we are very lucky to live here.

Speaker:

Do you ever notice too?

Speaker:

Everything's breaking news so everything's like thrown in your face?

Speaker:

Well, not everything's breaking news, you know, uh, train catching

Speaker:

on fire here in Boston, which happens often cuz the M B D socks here.

Speaker:

Um, It's not breaking news.

Speaker:

You know what I mean?

Speaker:

So we're constantly stimulated.

Speaker:

It's just overstimulation and it, it, it does, it makes me

Speaker:

anxious even thinking about it.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

No, absolutely.

Speaker:

And, and I completely agree with you on the, the whole,

Speaker:

uh, P T S D of our veterans.

Speaker:

I mean, that is something that needs to.

Speaker:

Be like extreme that that is breaking news.

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

I mean the, the suicide rate going on, I mean, that is breaking news.

Speaker:

20, this is not okay.

Speaker:

20.

Speaker:

That's the day.

Speaker:

That's insane.

Speaker:

You know?

Speaker:

Oh, it's, no, it's, yeah.

Speaker:

I, I, I believe isn't it like more people die from suicide than

Speaker:

actually like in the war, right.

Speaker:

Like, I'm fighting.

Speaker:

Right, right.

Speaker:

Um, so I it is, it's, it's not okay.

Speaker:

And, uh, definitely I.

Speaker:

I'm all four.

Speaker:

Getting the dogs out of the shelters and making 'em into PTs.

Speaker:

Yeah, we got one right here.

Speaker:

He's like sleeping upside down on us.

Speaker:

He's one of my three.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

For those of you not watching the YouTube video, there is this cutie pie on her

Speaker:

lap just hanging out, uh, being there for, I dunno who's supporting, who has

Speaker:

this moment, but I'm holding him up.

Speaker:

He got neutered last week, so he is still a little tired.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

It's all right.

Speaker:

Uh, no, but definitely I'm, I'm all for that.

Speaker:

Dogs are, yeah, dogs are amazing and, uh, such a great form of support for sure.

Speaker:

Now, in terms of a.

Speaker:

Uh, yeah.

Speaker:

Let's say like for a veteran coming back with PTs d what, what do you

Speaker:

recommend as being some of the best things for someone going through that?

Speaker:

Um, I, I, did you say there was a patch for that as well?

Speaker:

That you, that um Yep.

Speaker:

That you guys have as well, but that's the anxiety aside from that?

Speaker:

What other, yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Oh, okay.

Speaker:

A lot of them have used, there's a really good story on the restore.

Speaker:

Website.

Speaker:

Um, and it was a veteran and he, you know, was suffering severe P S T D, probably one

Speaker:

of the biggest hits that we've had on it.

Speaker:

But he tells us, you know, truth, you know, it's truth.

Speaker:

He's not making up a story.

Speaker:

It's not paid advertising.

Speaker:

Um, It changed his life.

Speaker:

He's never felt better.

Speaker:

He doesn't take any of those prescribed medications anymore and it's just life

Speaker:

changing and you know, to just feel doped up in, in your head all the time.

Speaker:

It's just not good for them.

Speaker:

So I think we're too quick in the medical world to just throw them on medications.

Speaker:

You know, having something like this more and more, I feel like more physicians

Speaker:

to find out might be more interested in turning to this and trying it.

Speaker:

I mean, you have nothing to lose, like I said, because you don't, you're

Speaker:

not giving them something that's gonna nullify their personality.

Speaker:

They're going to feel better and it's just something you wear on the

Speaker:

your back that nobody can really see.

Speaker:

So, I don't know, it's just a really incredible, you know, thing

Speaker:

to see how this man transformed.

Speaker:

But we even get in like, A lot of testimonials from older people

Speaker:

who just feel so much better with these patches and they talk about

Speaker:

how it's been such a game changer.

Speaker:

Um, one of my mom's friend actually was like, I have to try these.

Speaker:

Should I try these?

Speaker:

Is this one of those like paid promotions?

Speaker:

I go, no, I actually believe in this, so I think you should give it a shot.

Speaker:

She even wrote a letter into them.

Speaker:

She's like, I can sleep better.

Speaker:

I don't feel like I'm on edge.

Speaker:

So there is like, like I said, it's 60 days money back guarantee.

Speaker:

You have nothing to lose.

Speaker:

You're not gonna interact with any medications you're taking

Speaker:

now with your heart or thyroid.

Speaker:

It's just, it's simple.

Speaker:

It's just a simple way.

Speaker:

I think with the way that the pharmaceuticals are run here in the

Speaker:

United States, they just wanna make their money so nobody ever really

Speaker:

looks and searches for an alternative.

Speaker:

So when the veterans do come home, they go to counseling and immediately are

Speaker:

thrown on all these dulling medications.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And so for, for someone looking to get some of these patches mm-hmm.

Speaker:

From Restore, what would be, what would be the best route of, of obtaining those?

Speaker:

Is this something that you have to get, um, like a prescription for?

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Or is it able that you could just purchase it online?

Speaker:

Uh, how would someone go about them?

Speaker:

Um, you can actually purchase them online@restorepatch.com.

Speaker:

Uh, but for your listeners, they do, they are running a special for your podcasters,

Speaker:

so you go to restore patch.com/podcast.

Speaker:

And you can get a couple samples of like the anxiety, sleep, whatever

Speaker:

one you wanna give a shot to.

Speaker:

So, I mean, look at that.

Speaker:

You do not even spend any money.

Speaker:

That's how much we believe in this product.

Speaker:

We, we don't, it's not all about the money.

Speaker:

We want you to see how it works.

Speaker:

And then if also, if you wanna just, if you find that you love it, you just go

Speaker:

to the, um, checkout and put podcast 25, you'll get 25% off your order as well.

Speaker:

So we just wanna get the word out there.

Speaker:

We want people to feel better and less medicated.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

No, that's, that's incredible.

Speaker:

Um, thank you also for providing that information.

Speaker:

We'll make, we'll make sure to, that'd be great.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

As well.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

Yeah, like I said, anything that has a low, uh, side or

Speaker:

risk for side effects mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Is like high on my list.

Speaker:

So, uh, absolutely.

Speaker:

Going to make sure we have that linked.

Speaker:

And I also wanted to ask you though, so for let's say, because I know the

Speaker:

younger generation is definitely the generation being hit hardest with, uh,

Speaker:

aside from veterans obviously, but being hit hardest with anxiety and depression.

Speaker:

Um, so.

Speaker:

What would you recommend as being some of the best practices for.

Speaker:

I don't know, a 14, 15 year old, uh, you know, really going through it

Speaker:

and just having a hard time dealing with a lot of anxiety or depression.

Speaker:

What would be your top recommendations to, to that kid?

Speaker:

Uh, what, yeah, in terms of Yeah, just overall lifestyle, I guess

Speaker:

I would say definitely, like I am guilty of this as well, so.

Speaker:

Limit your time on TikTok.

Speaker:

Stop comparing yourself.

Speaker:

Um, if you're feeling something off and you're just not feeling good, I was

Speaker:

always lucky, like I could talk to my mom.

Speaker:

I would go to my mom.

Speaker:

If you have a friend, just discuss it out.

Speaker:

Get off that, like social media, it's not real.

Speaker:

So talk about your feelings, you know, like you said, like go join a group.

Speaker:

Go do something you're passionate about.

Speaker:

Get outside.

Speaker:

You're like, A teen who likes to go fishing, get out, go fishing this summer.

Speaker:

You know what I mean?

Speaker:

Just do something that's just not sitting on your phone and scrolling because you

Speaker:

lose so much of your life and your time.

Speaker:

I'm guilty of it too.

Speaker:

I'm sure you are too.

Speaker:

You have like beyond TikTok and I'm like, where did the last two hours go?

Speaker:

Who am I?

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

Um, just live your life and do what you want.

Speaker:

Don't compare yourself seriously.

Speaker:

It's not worth it.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I think to that I would also, um, I would definitely highlight, you

Speaker:

know, get outside mm-hmm too and get that, get the exercise a lot.

Speaker:

Um, I think that's great.

Speaker:

I did that a lot.

Speaker:

Was awesome.

Speaker:

Yeah, I, I, people, people underestimate the power of walking, but, you know,

Speaker:

it's really, it's like the most basic form of movement for our body, our body

Speaker:

demands and, and expects us to, to travel.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Like, that's why we have two legs and moving this, this, uh, manner.

Speaker:

But, uh, definitely I think getting outside and, uh, you know, having.

Speaker:

Sunlight, you know, natural sunlight coming on you and, and being able

Speaker:

to get your hands in the dirt or your feet on the earth and, and,

Speaker:

uh, breathing in the fresh air.

Speaker:

I think, I think that's really, uh, underrated.

Speaker:

And, you know, I, I definitely, you, you mentioned community, uh, we've

Speaker:

spoken about that a bit, but I always highlight that with all the blue

Speaker:

zones in the world, you know, they're trying to look at diets and all these

Speaker:

different things and sure, there are factors that play a role, but the number

Speaker:

one thing that they're finding is.

Speaker:

Every single one of those has a very strong community.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

It's connection with their neighbors, connection with their friends,

Speaker:

connection with their family.

Speaker:

They sit down and eat dinner together every single night.

Speaker:

You know, they have a chair open for someone if they want

Speaker:

to come visit, you know, and, and they just, they all connect.

Speaker:

They're not sitting behind a car steering wheel.

Speaker:

Eating fast food, right?

Speaker:

Like in traffic like that is, that is not community.

Speaker:

That's the exact opposite.

Speaker:

And I think, um, you know, it's, it's important for us to focus on

Speaker:

food, you know, nutrition, diet, uh, exercise, all those things.

Speaker:

They are important, but at the core of it, like we are, We, we demand that

Speaker:

we have community, like we need that, you know, it's, it's very therapeutic.

Speaker:

And, um, yeah.

Speaker:

So thank you for, for mentioning, um, those few things because I, I think

Speaker:

those, those are super, super important.

Speaker:

And, and not only that, but they're very addicting, right?

Speaker:

Social medianess, it's very addicting.

Speaker:

Uh, like I said, two hours gone, gone.

Speaker:

It can happen so easily.

Speaker:

Yep, I know.

Speaker:

Yeah, it's ridiculous.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

It's, it's like actually scary, right?

Speaker:

Like we have figured out how to really, uh, we have shorter attention

Speaker:

spans now, but we know how to grab those really, really fast.

Speaker:

I know.

Speaker:

Um, so yeah, uh, definitely a little bit scary, but also we, we have methods

Speaker:

of, of getting around that and, uh, it's important for us to focus on that.

Speaker:

Great.

Speaker:

It's so true.

Speaker:

Um, yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Um, but yeah, and so.

Speaker:

Uh, I, I'm not sure.

Speaker:

Is there any other types of, um, so I've mainly spoken just about anxiety

Speaker:

and depression, but is there any other, like you were spoke speaking about adhd.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Um, you know, what, what are these other things that we're really struggling with

Speaker:

right now in terms of mental health?

Speaker:

Yeah, that's another one.

Speaker:

Like adhd.

Speaker:

People take Adderall, they're like mummifying, their whole system.

Speaker:

They're never hungry.

Speaker:

Um, so you're not, you're not.

Speaker:

Natural anymore.

Speaker:

People who are on that sometimes get more angry too.

Speaker:

So there, and a lot of, and, and another thing, adults have

Speaker:

that, but with the kids, a lot of parents, like kids are kids, right?

Speaker:

So if I see somebody putting a five year old on a Ritalin or

Speaker:

Adderall, I think there's a problem.

Speaker:

Kids are kids, they're gonna be wild, send them outside, have them

Speaker:

run around, blow off the steam.

Speaker:

Um, it's just not.

Speaker:

Why are you stimulating a five year old with an Adderall or even a 10 year old?

Speaker:

Why don't we focus on what you know, let them be a kid and if they're get

Speaker:

older and they still have these issues, I mean, You can put a patch on that.

Speaker:

You know what I mean?

Speaker:

We, so the A D H D patch that's coming out from Restore has, um,

Speaker:

one of the psychologists has been using it with a couple of her kid

Speaker:

patients, and they're paying attention.

Speaker:

They're more focused and they're not getting those side effects

Speaker:

of having the Adderall as well.

Speaker:

So Adderall's a stimulant, so they're always gonna be like on, and

Speaker:

it's just not healthy for anyone.

Speaker:

So, If we have, again, like another way with a copper patch that you

Speaker:

place on every three days that can keep you focused, I think

Speaker:

that is just amazing as well.

Speaker:

So there's a lot of things coming down the pipeline with Restore patch

Speaker:

that are just simply incredible, but I, I don't know if I'm allowed yet to

Speaker:

talk about them, but I know the a d one I'm allowed to talk about, cause

Speaker:

that's coming out very, very soon.

Speaker:

If it hasn't already launched this week, I'm not sure.

Speaker:

Gotcha.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And that's definitely, um, that is a topic that I don't know

Speaker:

very much about is A D H D.

Speaker:

And, um, uh, yeah, I, I know, uh, Like you were just saying, like people using

Speaker:

the prescription as an adult, I think a lot of 'em are usually using them,

Speaker:

not necessarily cause they need it.

Speaker:

Um, in college you definitely know a lot of people using it for studying and stuff.

Speaker:

Uh, so you can definitely see the abuse there on that.

Speaker:

But, Uh, yeah, so I, I definitely would love to see, um, when this patch rolls

Speaker:

out and see how well it's working with, um, a lot of these people who are dealing

Speaker:

with ADHD because yeah, it is, it's, it's, uh, it's something that, you know,

Speaker:

can have a lot of, a lot of benefit for, uh, these kids and, uh, and, and

Speaker:

adults as well who are dealing with it.

Speaker:

Um, but yeah, it's incredible.

Speaker:

I, I love to hear this, I love to see that there's alternatives coming out to, uh,

Speaker:

a lot of these, you know, what I would say are, I guess more like modern issues.

Speaker:

Uh, like we said, they could have been swept under the rug and always,

Speaker:

and we just didn't know about it.

Speaker:

We've always obviously had Yeah.

Speaker:

And, uh, but maybe it was just in lower quantity, who knows?

Speaker:

But nonetheless, it's really amazing to see, uh, that we're finding

Speaker:

ways to address these issues.

Speaker:

So, yeah.

Speaker:

Um, yeah, I'd love to hear that.

Speaker:

Um, Dr.

Speaker:

Sarah Russo.

Speaker:

Is there any other topics that we have not touched on that you want

Speaker:

to, uh, take a moment to speak about?

Speaker:

I'm, I, I'm, I'm loving.

Speaker:

Oh, I love that.

Speaker:

Um, no, I mean, this is great.

Speaker:

Um, the other one too, I do wanna mention about the restore patch, sleep patch.

Speaker:

Like, I think that's great for people who wake up at 3:00 AM.

Speaker:

Um, it will keep you constantly asleep.

Speaker:

I will say when I've used the anxiety patch myself, I get better sleep

Speaker:

on that than I have in a long time because I overprocessed I'm always

Speaker:

thinking, um, like I said, when I have the anxieties, I'm like, worrying

Speaker:

about tomorrow when you shouldn't.

Speaker:

What are you gonna do about it?

Speaker:

But, It helped me sleep as well.

Speaker:

So there's so many great things about these and, and you know, a lot of holistic

Speaker:

medication back in like the 18 hundreds was a really great way to heal as well.

Speaker:

So, and it's funny, you know, Ibel, you know, don't discount the medications and

Speaker:

the prescriptions we have, but sometimes, you know, you're putting chemicals in

Speaker:

your body that you don't even know what it's gonna react or do in a couple years.

Speaker:

So it's always nice to try.

Speaker:

I mean, you have nothing to lose, like I keep saying honestly, by trying this out.

Speaker:

It's not, no chemicals, nothing.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Just a copper wire that's gonna calm you down.

Speaker:

That's so amazing.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And, and I agree with the anxiety.

Speaker:

The anxiety can definitely lead to difficulty.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Getting to bed, you know, a lot of people have that issue where, uh, they

Speaker:

get anxious when they lay down and then it's very difficult when that mind

Speaker:

starts turning to shut it off at night.

Speaker:

So, Um, that's incredible.

Speaker:

Dr.

Speaker:

Sarah Russo.

Speaker:

Speaker:

Speaker:

Speaker:

and it helps with migraine symptoms.

Speaker:

Speaker:
