Who do you surround yourself with? Are they people who lift you up and help you to be the best version of yourself, or are they holding you back and making you play small? The people we spend the most time with are going to have an inevitable influence on us. This influence could be for the better or it could be for the worse. However, did you know that the people you spend the most time with could also be influencing you at a bacterial level?

In this week's episode, Evan breaks down why it is that the people we spend the most time with have a strong influence on us. Evan also shares 2 studies that show how the people we live with can also influence our microbiomes. Tune in to find out how the people you surround yourself with are influencing you mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and bacterially.

Speaker:

everybody.

2

:

Welcome to the elemental Ivan show.

3

:

This is your host, Evan Roberts.

4

:

And on this show, I break down complex

health topics from a holistic perspective.

5

:

And on today's show, we're

going to be talking about.

6

:

The people that influence you the most

and more specifically, the people that

7

:

influence you on a bacterial level,

they can actually alter your microbiome.

8

:

So I'm sure many of you have already

heard the saying that, you know,

9

:

you are the average of the five

people you spend the most time with.

10

:

This is a saying that I personally

find to be very true and it's something

11

:

we're really going to jump into

today, but even more importantly,

12

:

the people that you're spending the

most time with, or more specifically,

13

:

the people that you're living with.

14

:

Or actually affecting

you on a very deep level.

15

:

They are affecting you

at a bacterial level.

16

:

They are actually affecting

your micro biome or more.

17

:

So they are influencing your microbiome.

18

:

So on today's episode, we're going

to cover how the people we surround

19

:

ourselves with actually influence us

and how they can have an influence

20

:

on our microbiome, which for those

of you who are unfamiliar with what a

21

:

microbiome is, microbiome is simply.

22

:

The cloud of bacteria that surrounds you

and is inside you and all throughout you,

23

:

you have tons of bacteria and viruses

and all these different things on you.

24

:

And we have, what's known as a microbiome

and that is all of the bacteria

25

:

that is on our body and in our body.

26

:

So you are having that affected

or influenced by the people you

27

:

are living with, and you also

will influence theirs as well.

28

:

So that is going to be today's topic.

29

:

It's a really interesting one.

30

:

I have some.

31

:

Pretty cool studies to

bring to the table today.

32

:

But before we jump into that, One of

the things that I really love doing

33

:

on this show is just talking about

the different health practices or

34

:

things that I am trying, uh, that I

found some benefit with, or that I'm

35

:

enjoying and sharing them with you

because that's something that I would

36

:

do with my closest friends, my family.

37

:

Uh, my loved ones.

38

:

And of course you are all in that category

because you're tuning into the show.

39

:

So thank you very much.

40

:

And today I'm actually going to talk

a little bit about, uh, colostrum.

41

:

So colostrum is something that has.

42

:

Well, it's been around for a long time,

but it's kind of re-emerged here on

43

:

the market, um, in terms of legalities

and just being able to purchase it.

44

:

But colostrum, for those of you who

are unfamiliar with what it is, It's

45

:

actually the dairy that is produced

by mammals, uh, within the first

46

:

48 to 72 hours after giving birth.

47

:

So it is the, essentially the

very first food that all mammals

48

:

will receive is this claustrum.

49

:

So it's a milk, right?

50

:

Um, but it is a very special milk

because it's going to have the

51

:

essential nutrients that we're going

to need when we're literally just born.

52

:

Right.

53

:

And I know this is.

54

:

Almost a little weird sounding.

55

:

Um, I know when I first heard about

this, I was a little skeptical

56

:

and also just kinda like, man,

what the heck is this all about?

57

:

But nonetheless, there are some

really great studies on it and

58

:

there seems to be some real, uh, you

know, Some backing on this product.

59

:

And it's something that I've been very

interested in because of its ability

60

:

to possibly help with gut health,

which for those of you who know gut

61

:

health is a huge thing that I focus on.

62

:

Uh, I've struggled with a lot of gut

issues growing up, specifically, IBS.

63

:

That's one of the main

things that I've dealt with.

64

:

And so of course I'm always trying

to find new things that are going

65

:

to help benefit the guy and the

microbiome and all that good stuff.

66

:

And inevitably claustrum

came up on my radar.

67

:

So I decided to give it a try.

68

:

And it's been about three months

now that I've been taking claustrum.

69

:

And I will truthfully, I started

taking it for my digestive health.

70

:

Although personally, I've actually seen

most of the benefits in a different area.

71

:

So in terms of gut health, I'm just

going to be straight up with all of you.

72

:

Um, I have noticed some

benefit from taking claustrum

73

:

literally every single day.

74

:

I usually just take it once a day.

75

:

I don't normally take it more than that.

76

:

Although I have, for a period of

time taken a, uh, two times a day.

77

:

But really the benefit of the gut health,

I would say there is a slight note,

78

:

like noticeable difference in terms of

just kind of feeling better, um, that

79

:

digestive, just digestive system working

a little bit better, but realistically,

80

:

I actually, haven't seen a massive shift

in the benefits of claustrum for my gut.

81

:

Now I think I need to take it for a

little bit of a longer period of time

82

:

and also increase the amount that

I'm taking because when I was taking.

83

:

Taking claustrum two times a day.

84

:

I actually did notice a little bit

more of a benefit with the gut health.

85

:

So that's something I want to do.

86

:

It's obviously not the

most cost-effective thing.

87

:

Of course, when you're taking it

literally multiple times a day.

88

:

Cause I might even take it like three

times a day just to see what happens.

89

:

But here's where I found a lot

of benefit from trying colostrum.

90

:

So colostrum.

91

:

When I was taking it once a day.

92

:

This is right around the time when

literally like everyone was getting sick.

93

:

Okay.

94

:

So friends, family, coworkers,

acquaintances, everyone around me was just

95

:

dropping like flies, getting sick, right.

96

:

Um, from various different things, right.

97

:

And here I was in contact with most

of these people, like physically in

98

:

contact with them, because I didn't

know that they were sick or they

99

:

didn't even know that they were

sick, whatever it might have been.

100

:

And.

101

:

I literally was completely fine.

102

:

Felt incredible, actually like no issues,

no symptoms, not even like a little bit

103

:

of a sickness, which is amazing because.

104

:

Personally, I haven't

done anything different.

105

:

I have been eating the same foods.

106

:

I've been taking the same

supplements that I usually take,

107

:

which it's just a few supplements.

108

:

There's really not that many.

109

:

So I have not been doing anything

differently aside from the fact

110

:

that I started taking colostrum.

111

:

On that note, Ashley as well, was taking

the classroom with me and same experience,

112

:

no sickness, nothing like that.

113

:

So the immune benefits which I have heard

about, and I knew that that was a possible

114

:

benefit of taking colostrum, although it

wasn't the primary reason I was taking it.

115

:

Was actually what I felt

was the most pronounced.

116

:

Now, of course I can't.

117

:

Go out and say, oh, a hundred percent

of this claustrum is, you know, what

118

:

kept me totally safe and strong and

all this good stuff, but I really

119

:

truthfully did not do anything else.

120

:

And I just came to the conclusion that,

you know, for me, literally being in

121

:

contact with all of these sick people.

122

:

Um, and I, I know I have a decent immune

system for sure, but it's just wild.

123

:

And I really truthfully think

that there is something with this.

124

:

Uh, with our immunity and

with taking claustrum.

125

:

So that's something I'm

huge on taking right now.

126

:

I'm going to continue taking it.

127

:

And funny enough.

128

:

I ran out of claustrum and

I was meaning to order it.

129

:

I ran over for like two weeks and I

decided I was going to go ahead and

130

:

reorder the claustrum, but just kept a.

131

:

Uh, escaping my mind and sure enough,

I ate some kind of a funky food or

132

:

something like that because, uh, I

definitely got a stomach bug and it was

133

:

just a quick little 24 hour kind of like

full evacuation if you know what I mean?

134

:

Uh, both Ashley and I got it.

135

:

I really do think it's

from, uh, something we ate.

136

:

And I was like, oh man.

137

:

I really wish I had my

colostrum right now.

138

:

Uh, so I went ahead and ordered it

and, um, it was really cool because for

139

:

one like full day felt really crappy.

140

:

And then the next couple of days,

I was still a little bit like

141

:

dehydrated, you know, a little

bit of a headache, all that.

142

:

Uh, but I had the claustrum,

it started taking it.

143

:

And I mean, within like a day

or two was just back on my feet,

144

:

feeling back to normal and feeling

great and ready to rock and roll.

145

:

So.

146

:

Once again, can't fully a hundred percent

obviously say, because I don't have

147

:

the ability to test that and to know

for sure that this is what was doing

148

:

it, but I really truly feel that the

claustrum was benefiting my immune system.

149

:

Uh, which also just on that note,

at least 70% of our physical

150

:

immune system resides in our gut.

151

:

So it just kind of goes hand in hand

that what is good for our gut is also

152

:

going to be good for our immune system.

153

:

So it just kind of makes sense there.

154

:

Needless to say, I will

continue taking on a colostrum.

155

:

I feel that it has a lot of benefits

to it, and I feel like it has even more

156

:

benefits that I haven't tapped into yet.

157

:

So I'm going to buy it and increase

the amount in, uh, in which I'm taking

158

:

at least twice a day, maybe even

three times a day and just see what

159

:

benefits I, I obtained from that.

160

:

Um, truthfully, I literally just

try so many different health things,

161

:

especially when it comes to the gut.

162

:

That's a huge thing I focus on.

163

:

Um, you know, I don't typically have

a lot of flare ups from IBS, but

164

:

every now and again, it does happen.

165

:

And so I'm still able to

kind of really tweak and.

166

:

And find out what it is that is best

for my immune system and my gut.

167

:

Uh, and colostrum is the newest thing

that I've been trying so figured

168

:

I would share it with all of you.

169

:

Um, I will share as well

other health practices and.

170

:

Uh, books that I'm reading and

all those different things on

171

:

here, because literally that's

what the show is all about.

172

:

Uh, I just love to share this stuff.

173

:

So.

174

:

Anyways.

175

:

If you want to try this glossary and

see what it does for you, because of

176

:

course everyone's body is going to

be specific and, you know, different.

177

:

So I can't say, you know, what works for

me is also going to work for you, but

178

:

I've found some serious benefit with this.

179

:

And if you want to try it as

well, the colostrum that I

180

:

decided to go with was called tri.

181

:

Arm WRA.

182

:

And you might have seen them on

Instagram and all the socials.

183

:

Cause they're pretty big on there.

184

:

But that is tri T R Y.

185

:

A R M R a tri armor.

186

:

And if you go there, you can go

ahead and try out their colostrum.

187

:

They have a few different flavors.

188

:

Personally.

189

:

I just got the basic flavor, like

the unflavored one, and I literally

190

:

will just take a scoop of it and

throw it into my mouth and let it

191

:

just kind of dissolve in there.

192

:

Um, they say it's also good for

the oral microbiome as well.

193

:

So, uh, yeah, if you want to

go ahead and try it out, I will

194

:

go ahead and have the link.

195

:

Uh, in the show notes.

196

:

So you can go ahead down

there and click on it.

197

:

It's tri Arora.

198

:

And of course, because you are listeners

to the show and I love to try to

199

:

give you guys something for finding

me your ear, all of these times.

200

:

Uh, on all these episodes, uh, I love

to give you guys a discount code.

201

:

So if you go and look at the

show notes, you'll see that

202

:

there's a discount code there.

203

:

It's Evan 10.

204

:

It's all capitals E V a N one zero.

205

:

Then go ahead and use that at checkout.

206

:

You'll get 10% off your first order.

207

:

And once again, that's just kinda my,

my little thank you to all of you.

208

:

It's a, it's just a way for

me to, to help you all to try

209

:

some of these products that I.

210

:

Go through and, and see how they work for

me and the things that I find benefit in.

211

:

I'd love to share with you guys.

212

:

So, uh, go ahead and try that out.

213

:

If you want.

214

:

Um, personally, I felt that this

was one of the best brands for

215

:

claustrum because they use a

proprietary, sorry, proprietary.

216

:

Cold chain, bio potent technology,

which is to concentrate.

217

:

Colostrum's a 200 plus living nutrients.

218

:

In a.

219

:

You know, pure bioavailable form,

which is very important because

220

:

obviously dairy has a lot of heat

sensitive, um, components to it.

221

:

So we don't want to lose a lot of those

beneficial things by heating it up.

222

:

So.

223

:

Tri armor has found a way to avoid that

with, you know, still getting it to you in

224

:

a safe manner and allowing you to take it.

225

:

Um, so anyways, if you want to check

that out, it's in the show notes, I just

226

:

really want to share that with all of you.

227

:

It's something.

228

:

I have been trying, like I said, for the

last three months here and have found some

229

:

benefit with and wanting to just share it

with you before we jumped into the show.

230

:

So.

231

:

Now that we got that.

232

:

Uh, done.

233

:

We will jump in to today's topic,

which is all about the people we spend

234

:

time with and how they influence us.

235

:

So, They not only influence us.

236

:

Just on the basic levels, they also

influence us on a bacterial level, but

237

:

to start with how people influence us

and really just, I love that quote,

238

:

the, you are the average of the five

people you spend the most time with.

239

:

I don't know where they got

the number five from probably

240

:

just a good number to go with.

241

:

Uh, but nonetheless, I think you're

just the average of the people

242

:

you spend the most time with.

243

:

And if you look at this from a very

basic level, if you just look at it

244

:

in the sense of, if you have a group

of friends that love to go golfing,

245

:

Guess what you probably go golfing too.

246

:

It's just something that you all do

together as something you're into.

247

:

If you have a group of friends

that loves to go out running.

248

:

You probably go running.

249

:

If you have a group of friends

that loves to go watch baseball

250

:

games and you probably go watch

baseball games together, right?

251

:

Like it's just, you are

associated with them.

252

:

And.

253

:

That's something you all share together.

254

:

So naturally the things that you

do as a group, the things that your

255

:

friends are all into are going to be

the things that your into as well.

256

:

Right?

257

:

We are, uh, by association, just

kind of into those things as well.

258

:

Now, if we want to take this to

a little bit of a deeper level.

259

:

You also have what's

called mirror neurons.

260

:

So mirror like literally a mirror that

you look at to see yourself and neurons.

261

:

So these are brain cells that react when

not only you're performing an action.

262

:

But also when you're observing

someone else performing an action.

263

:

So literally.

264

:

These neurons are firing when they

see someone performing an action, and

265

:

then they're going to fire as well

when you're performing that action.

266

:

Right?

267

:

So they say like, um, Uh, those that fire

or wire together fire together, right?

268

:

Like.

269

:

The cells that wire

together, fire together.

270

:

And this is kind of where that comes from

it's because of these mirror neurons.

271

:

So literally when you're watching

someone do something, you have

272

:

mirror neurons that are being

activated at that moment in time.

273

:

To basically help you to

mirror what they're doing.

274

:

Right.

275

:

So we are going to pick up on

the habits of other people.

276

:

If we have people that have good

habits, we're going to pick up on those.

277

:

If we have people that have bad

habits, we'll pick up on those as well.

278

:

So in terms of, let's say.

279

:

You are a person who let's just say,

doesn't really smoke weed all that much.

280

:

Not that you're against it,

but you just don't smoke it.

281

:

But then you have a friend come

over who smokes weed all the time.

282

:

And all of a sudden you smoke weed

every single time they're over.

283

:

This is a perfect example of that.

284

:

There's also an example of a

friend who comes over, who let's

285

:

just say, loves to work out.

286

:

And I'm saying this because it

comes from a personal experience.

287

:

Uh, guess what?

288

:

I started working out more as well,

and just a shout out to that person.

289

:

It is Caleb would.

290

:

Yes.

291

:

The guy I've had on here, like

three or four times on this show.

292

:

He's a really good friend of mine and

just an awesome person all around.

293

:

But Caleb gets after his workouts.

294

:

And when he's over here for

literally just a couple of days,

295

:

This guy gets after his workouts.

296

:

Like no excuses.

297

:

And for your boy here.

298

:

I do work out, but it is not to the

extent that he works out, right.

299

:

It is less frequently

and also less intensity.

300

:

Right.

301

:

But when Kayla comes over here and

all of a sudden just starts busting

302

:

out a workout in my living room.

303

:

Naturally.

304

:

I see him working out and it's

like, ah, well, you know what?

305

:

I'll just hop on over there and throw

a couple of weights around as well.

306

:

And before I know it I've put

in literally a full on workout.

307

:

So when Caleb is around here, I will

literally work out like twice the

308

:

amount that I normally would work out.

309

:

So yes, Caleb is an excellent person

for me to surround myself with

310

:

because my mirror neurons are picking

up on him and naturally I'm just.

311

:

Wanting to do the things

that he's doing as well.

312

:

Right.

313

:

Because I, I, I feel that he

has, you know, a good lifestyle

314

:

and I like what he's doing.

315

:

And also it's just kind of like

a reminder, like, oh yeah, like,

316

:

Hey, why not work out right now?

317

:

It's something that I enjoy as

is, and he's doing it right now.

318

:

So why not just pick up a

weight and get after it?

319

:

So it goes both ways, right?

320

:

It can be bad.

321

:

It can be good.

322

:

And I love the quote.

323

:

Um, I believe, I believe it's

actually a biblical quote, which

324

:

is iron sharpens iron, right?

325

:

This is so true.

326

:

Um, when you have someone who's pushing

the needle and you're pushing the

327

:

needle as well, and you both are just

really trying to be the best versions of

328

:

yourself, and then you guys come together.

329

:

Boom, like get outta here.

330

:

Right?

331

:

You guys are both going to just take

each other to a whole new level, right?

332

:

Your iron sharpening iron.

333

:

However, when you have that friend

who is not at the level at that

334

:

level, they're not pushing the needle.

335

:

They are going to be for, I don't know,

lack of a better term, a rock, right?

336

:

They are not going to be

iron sharpening your iron.

337

:

They're going to be a rock that

is blunting your iron right there.

338

:

Making your iron less sharp.

339

:

So.

340

:

It's very important for us to understand

that the people we are spending a

341

:

lot of time with, we are going to

also start adapting and picking up

342

:

on their habits and their lifestyle.

343

:

It's just natural.

344

:

It's it's gonna happen, right.

345

:

It like, it's almost impossible

to not have it happen if you're

346

:

spending a ton of time with a person.

347

:

You're going to pick up on at least

some of their habits and traits.

348

:

Now.

349

:

When I'm saying this, I feel like there's

a lot of people who think, oh man, but.

350

:

I don't want to leave all my friends.

351

:

I have great friends, you know,

and, and we do some fun stuff

352

:

together in no way, shape or form.

353

:

And I say, am I saying that you absolutely

have to just drop your friend group and

354

:

step into a new group of people that are.

355

:

You know, totally up leveled, if

that's right, you want to go find

356

:

like, maybe that is the route you

need to go, but more than likely

357

:

the friends that you have right now.

358

:

You probably share some traits with

them and things that you like about

359

:

each other, and maybe they're also

wanting to up-level and step up in the

360

:

places that you're wanting to step up.

361

:

And, you know, this is a great

opportunity for you to become a leader

362

:

of your group and start to show them.

363

:

Uh, you know, that you can really

start pushing that needle and

364

:

being a better version of yourself.

365

:

Because, you know, I love the quote

as well that says, if you are the,

366

:

what is it the most interesting or

the smartest person in the room?

367

:

You're probably in the wrong room and

unfortunately that's probably true.

368

:

You are truly the most interesting and,

and the most smartest person in the

369

:

room, you're probably in the wrong room.

370

:

Um, but I always like to say

too, that if you are that person.

371

:

Well, maybe the people around you are

hungry to learn and hungry to grow.

372

:

So why not help?

373

:

Lift them up as well.

374

:

Right?

375

:

And so if you have friends around you

that are willing to put in the work

376

:

and they want to grow as well in the

same areas that you want to grow.

377

:

Then work with them.

378

:

You guys can still stay friends and

have the great friend group and continue

379

:

to grow and, you know, reach new

Heights and go in this new direction

380

:

that maybe is a little bit healthier

for all of you as an entire group.

381

:

Um, and that way you guys can,

you know, still keep this friend

382

:

group, but grow in a new way.

383

:

Right.

384

:

Now, of course, if you have some of those

friends that are just, they don't want to

385

:

change, they are happy the way they are.

386

:

They think the way you're going is

stupid and they just don't want to do it.

387

:

And, you know, whatever, right?

388

:

Like whatever their reasoning

is, is totally fine.

389

:

It's their life.

390

:

And they can absolutely

live it the way they wish.

391

:

But unfortunately for those people who

aren't at least going to be supportive

392

:

of your growth, Those are the people

that you are very likely going to have

393

:

to dramatically decrease the amount

of time in what you spend with them.

394

:

And the simple reason for that is,

is because the more time you spend

395

:

with them, they are just going to be

blunting your iron sharpness, right?

396

:

They are not sharpening your iron.

397

:

When you hang out with someone

who is an absolute high achiever,

398

:

and they're just app, just

getting after it every single day.

399

:

That person is going to be the person that

will freaking sharpen your iron so much.

400

:

Right.

401

:

And you might be able to

sharpen theirs as well.

402

:

Those are the people

you want to be around.

403

:

And unfortunately the person

that's blunting your iron.

404

:

They're the ones who are going to have

to receive less time, because if you

405

:

want to continue sharpening your iron

and improving yourself, you have to

406

:

be around the people who are going

to foster that improvement, right.

407

:

That growth.

408

:

So very, very important for us to do that.

409

:

Very important for us to fill our

cups, hang out with the people

410

:

that are going to help us become

a better version of ourselves.

411

:

And if we're lucky, we can be the

people who can better those around us.

412

:

Right.

413

:

So making sure we are lifting all right,

a rising tide lifts all boats, right?

414

:

So you can be the tide that

lifts all the other boats around.

415

:

You can be the person that improves

the lives of other people around you.

416

:

Now.

417

:

In terms of.

418

:

How a person can affect you on a

bacterial level, which is totally wild.

419

:

I like this blows my mind

when I came across this.

420

:

So as I just got done explaining

the people we spend the most time

421

:

with, they're going to inevitably

influence us in one way or another.

422

:

But did you know that the people that

you spend the most time with who are

423

:

very likely your housemates, right?

424

:

Uh, the people who you live with art,

very likely going to be some of the

425

:

people that you spend the most time

with, they are going to affect you or

426

:

influence you at a bacterial level.

427

:

So there's two studies that

I have drawn upon and I have

428

:

them linked in the show notes.

429

:

So feel free to click

on them, check them out.

430

:

Um, so, you know, I'm not just

coming out of nowhere, out of left

431

:

field with this information, like

this is legit studies have been done

432

:

on this, and they have found that

we share microbiota with people.

433

:

We share microorganisms, our

microbiomes with the people that

434

:

we are living with are constantly

interacting with each other.

435

:

And in fact, we share bacteria on our

skin with the people that we live with.

436

:

We share bacteria in our saliva

that people we live with and

437

:

we even share bacteria in.

438

:

In our poop with the

people that we live with.

439

:

Literally all that bacteria, there

is a degree of sharing with the

440

:

people that you live with just by

being in close contact with them.

441

:

And I know that super wild.

442

:

I actually, in fact, even dogs,

you can even have a, uh, exchange

443

:

of bacteria with animals, like a

dog or even a cat for that matter.

444

:

Now the highest degree of bacterial

exchange from what I was reading occurs on

445

:

the skin and then, you know, to the saliva

and then obviously, uh, to our feces.

446

:

But nonetheless, we do have

this exchange of bacteria.

447

:

So our microbiomes are.

448

:

Communicating exchanging

with each other diversifying.

449

:

However, it may be right.

450

:

But what's even crazier.

451

:

Is that there was a study.

452

:

Where they gave people antibiotics

and they wanted to see the effects

453

:

that the antibiotics were having

on the microbiomes of the people

454

:

who were taking these antibiotics.

455

:

But they also were taking samples

of the housemates of the people

456

:

who were taking these antibiotics.

457

:

And sure enough.

458

:

When someone is taking an

antibiotic that lives with you.

459

:

You too.

460

:

We'll experience a decrease or a reduction

in the diversity of your microbiome.

461

:

Boom.

462

:

Mind blown.

463

:

Sorry, maybe this didn't blow

your mind, but this blew my mind.

464

:

I was absolutely tripping

out when I heard this study.

465

:

And so I have this quote actually

from this study that I loved,

466

:

I had to share it with you all.

467

:

And it says we originally hypothesized

that we would observe an increase in

468

:

gut microbiota diversity due to the

sharing of microbiota with housemates

469

:

and did not predict that we would observe

diversity reductions in the housemates.

470

:

So they knew that.

471

:

The housemates were naturally going to

have this, you know, share of microbiota.

472

:

And they were, you know, hypothesizing

that they were going to observe an

473

:

increase in the microbiotic diversity.

474

:

But they ended up actually finding

as well, a reduction in that, in the

475

:

diversity of the, of the housemates

who are not even taking the antibiotic.

476

:

Now, granted, this is one study.

477

:

So yes.

478

:

Go.

479

:

We're probably going to need

many more studies on this.

480

:

I'm not saying that this is a

hundred percent true and all this,

481

:

um, but at least in this one study.

482

:

Uh, we were able to find that

this is the case that taking

483

:

antibiotics, not only for yourself

will affect your bacterial levels.

484

:

But it will also affect the

bacterial levels of all the people

485

:

that you live with in that house.

486

:

Which now this is me speaking

off of this study, right?

487

:

Um, just as a non-medical professional,

but we know that our microbiomes

488

:

are interacting and having this,

uh, you know, mixing going on.

489

:

So we also know that there are

certain bacteria that are found

490

:

in people who are generally fit.

491

:

Right.

492

:

They are staying able to stay in shape.

493

:

And then we see the people who are obese.

494

:

Tend to not have that bacteria.

495

:

And, you know, we also see that

there's these opportunistic

496

:

bacteria that certain people have.

497

:

Right.

498

:

And, and vice versa.

499

:

Right.

500

:

So there's these good

and these bad bacteria.

501

:

So what's to say that those are

not the bacteria that are going

502

:

from one person to another.

503

:

Hence if you take all the

precautions that you can possibly

504

:

take to be healthy, right?

505

:

Like you're exercising,

you're eating healthy, you're

506

:

doing all the things, right.

507

:

But then you have someone

who absolutely does not care.

508

:

They're eaten.

509

:

McDonald's Chick-fil-A Jack in the

box, fast food every single day.

510

:

Um, you know, the process

food, they live, they have the

511

:

standard American diet, right.

512

:

Which is like 60% processed foods.

513

:

Um, Never exercising, just

destroyed gut bacteria, all of that.

514

:

Their microbiome.

515

:

At least according to what we're

seeing here in these two studies, which

516

:

once again, it's just two studies.

517

:

But.

518

:

We are seeing that that person could

negatively influence your microbiome.

519

:

Now, conversely, you could be

influencing their microbiome in

520

:

a positive way, which is awesome.

521

:

But nonetheless, it just goes to show

that the people we surround ourselves with

522

:

are not just effecting us on this, you

know, superficial level, but they are.

523

:

Deeply.

524

:

Influencing us at a

bacterial level as well.

525

:

So the people who you

spend the most time with.

526

:

Are very, very important.

527

:

You really, really need to make sure

that the people you're spending the

528

:

most time with are, you know, boosting

you mentally boosting you physically

529

:

and emotionally and spiritually.

530

:

And bacterially.

531

:

You really do though.

532

:

You need to make sure that the people

you're surrounding yourself with are

533

:

taking care of themselves, because if they

are not taking care of themselves, That

534

:

influence can spill over onto you as well.

535

:

And that's not, once again,

this is not to say abandoned.

536

:

All the people who don't know

how to take care of themselves.

537

:

No, they need love and they need.

538

:

You know, a push here and there as well.

539

:

Um, to help them gain here.

540

:

So if you have someone who's falling

behind or who isn't, you know,

541

:

doing the things that they should be

doing to live a healthy, happy life.

542

:

Of course do not.

543

:

And I will say this because I truly

believe in this, do not force your

544

:

will upon other people, right?

545

:

Like no one needs to live their

life in whatever way you live yours.

546

:

Uh, that's, you know, just,

we have free will and.

547

:

We should be able to exercise that

and live our own lives in the ways

548

:

that we see fit for ourselves.

549

:

Um, but you know, it is truly

on us to be an example, right.

550

:

And be the example and surround ourselves

with people who are also being an

551

:

example for the people around them.

552

:

And.

553

:

Connect with those people.

554

:

You know, sharpen each other's iron

become the best versions of ourselves.

555

:

And, you know, really just try to find

that group of people who are going to

556

:

boost you on all the levels, right.

557

:

Emotionally, spiritually,

physically, mentally.

558

:

And like I said, bacterially right.

559

:

Like, we really do need these people.

560

:

And, uh, if you're trying to.

561

:

You know, be a high achiever.

562

:

If you're trying to be a person

who is pushing the needle, right.

563

:

Who's actually out there getting after

it every single day, doing the work.

564

:

You owe it to yourself to surround

yourself with people who are also

565

:

doing the same work and are going to

fill your cup just as much as you're

566

:

going to fill their cup as well.

567

:

So that's going to do

it for today's episode.

568

:

Y'all this is a little

bit of a motivational.

569

:

Podcast episode here today.

570

:

Um, I really do though.

571

:

I love mindset episodes.

572

:

Um, I don't do too many of them on

this show, but I believe mindset is

573

:

crucial to being healthy as well.

574

:

Um, Dad living a healthy and happy life.

575

:

We need to really focus on our mindset.

576

:

Our mind is so powerful and really

getting that under control is a

577

:

huge win in terms of our health.

578

:

So.

579

:

Anyways, y'all.

580

:

That is going to do it

for today's episode.

581

:

Um, if you found any value in today's

show, please eight goes so far.

582

:

a way for people to find the show easier.

586

:

602

:

Y'all I really, truly, truly appreciate

everyone for tuning in today.

603

:

Uh, I will be on with, I believe a guest

for next week's episode on Wednesday.

604

:

So definitely don't want to miss that.

605

:

I love all of the guest

episodes have some.

606

:

Amazing people come on this show that

can really share a ton of knowledge and

607

:

shed some light on topics that maybe I

don't have a huge depth of knowledge on.

608

:

So anyways, Be sure to tune into that and.

609

:

Until then y'all I hope you just

have a beautiful rest of your day,

610

:

a beautiful rest of your week.

611

:

Um, let's get after it.

612

:

Let's.

613

:

Go out there and sharpen some iron.

614

:

Just be the best version

of ourselves as possible.

615

:

Um, truly that's what this is all about

is, uh, really trying to be the best

616

:

version of ourselves and to, uh, you

know, Have a good health span, right?

617

:

That's a, that's truly the goal here.

618

:

Um, now, as you all know, I do

like to end these episodes off

619

:

with some actionable steps.

620

:

Because I believe that when you listen to

a podcast, you can receive so much benefit

621

:

and so much information, but if you don't

have a concise way of how to actually

622

:

put a lot of these tools into practice,

um, then the episode can kind of be lost.

623

:

Uh, and you won't really

receive as much benefit.

624

:

So.

625

:

What my main kind of takeaway actionable

steps for today's episode are going to be.

626

:

Is number one.

627

:

Evaluate who it is you're

spending the most time with.

628

:

Right?

629

:

So this is very simple.

630

:

You can just look at the

people you live with.

631

:

You can look at who it is that you

hang out with the most, and really.

632

:

Evaluate it.

633

:

Right.

634

:

See what it is that you guys do together.

635

:

What are, what are your hobbies?

636

:

What is it that you enjoy doing?

637

:

Like all of that, and then ask yourself,

do you enjoy doing those hobbies?

638

:

Does that person fill your cup?

639

:

Do you feel good when

you hang out with them?

640

:

Right.

641

:

Like ask these questions of.

642

:

If that is a healthy relationship, right.

643

:

And if it is a healthy

relationship, that's awesome.

644

:

And that's super cool.

645

:

Maybe you can even find ways to try

to push the needle with each other.

646

:

You can, um, think of things

that you're both into.

647

:

Maybe you can start reading some.

648

:

Books that are, you know, growth

books, growth mindset, books, and, uh,

649

:

you know, kind of have a little book

club on that, or maybe start working

650

:

out together, whatever it may be.

651

:

Um, and if you are surrounded by

people that genuinely do not fill

652

:

your cup and are truthfully just, you

know, blunting your iron, they are.

653

:

I'm not bringing anything to the table.

654

:

And in fact, they're actually holding

you back and bringing you down.

655

:

Well, then my recommendation on

that one is to start looking for

656

:

people that are doing the things

you want to be doing, right.

657

:

That are living the life

you want to be living.

658

:

And start connecting with those people,

reach out to them, try to get into

659

:

those, uh, groups, try to, you know,

find a way to get associated with them.
