Hey, what's going on, everybody.
Speaker:Welcome back to the elemental Ivan show.
Speaker:Thank you all so much for tuning into this little mini Monday episode.
Speaker:I love these little episodes because they're nice and
Speaker:short and sweet to the point.
Speaker:And today is going to be just that we are going to be talking about a topic
Speaker:on discipline and your wake up time.
Speaker:Uh, this is a good little nugget of advice that I use for myself
Speaker:and is definitely very impactful in being disciplined and productive.
Speaker:In the day.
Speaker:So before we jump into that, I just wanted to take a moment and talk about
Speaker:the drinks at HIO that's H I Y O.
Speaker:So I have already interviewed their co-founder George Yeomans.
Speaker:He's an awesome guy.
Speaker:If you haven't already listened to that podcast episode, feel
Speaker:free to go back and check it out.
Speaker:But the drinks that they are making are some incredible, in my opinion,
Speaker:nootropics, even though they are a alcohol alternative and they're
Speaker:really just such a delicious drink.
Speaker:That for one can be consumed when you are doing some work throughout
Speaker:the day, and they can help you to actually focus because they're
Speaker:packed with some really awesome.
Speaker:Uh, functional herbs and mushrooms that help you to focus on the task at hand, as
Speaker:well as if you are out with some friends.
Speaker:And you do not feel like having a day of recovery, or you just
Speaker:don't want to drink any alcohol.
Speaker:To me, they are one of the best alternatives because they still
Speaker:give you a little bit of a, what we would call a floating feeling.
Speaker:At least George calls it that, and I agree.
Speaker:It definitely elevates the body and the mind mentally a little bit gives you
Speaker:a little bit of soul social lubricant.
Speaker:So.
Speaker:So you are more open to speaking of people and it's just overall a delicious drink.
Speaker:If you want to get your hand on some of these, they are in a few
Speaker:grocery stores, as well as a few bars in the local Bennis LA area.
Speaker:But if you are not in the area, then you can definitely order them online.
Speaker:I will have the link in the show notes to their company website, where you
Speaker:can purchase the drinks there, and you can get 15% off your entire order
Speaker:with the discount code, elemental 15, which is going to be also linked in
Speaker:the show notes with the link to HIO.
Speaker:So you can go ahead and get yourself some of their delicious drinks there
Speaker:and it used them for whatever occasions you see fit now, getting in to.
Speaker:Waking up and being disciplined.
Speaker:I think they kind of go hand in hand because to me, the way you wake up
Speaker:and really the time that you wake up.
Speaker:Is going to set the tone for your day.
Speaker:So if you actually think about this.
Speaker:The very first disciplined action that you could possibly take in the day.
Speaker:Is waking up at an early hour, which does not have to be a crazy early hour.
Speaker:Doesn't have to be like two or three in the morning or something like that.
Speaker:Uh, but rather just somewhere between, let's say five and 6:00 AM, right.
Speaker:Something that is maybe not.
Speaker:Uh, super easy time to wake up.
Speaker:But it's doable.
Speaker:Well, when you wake up at an early time like this, you're just more likely
Speaker:to not waste time in the morning.
Speaker:If you actually, you know, muster up the will to peel yourself out of the
Speaker:bed in the morning, and yeah, sure.
Speaker:You might feel a little bit groggy at first, but after that passes.
Speaker:You're going to be taking action at such an early hour.
Speaker:And the fact that you woke up early is going to make it so that, you know, you're
Speaker:not going to want to waste that time.
Speaker:Right.
Speaker:If you were going to waste any time, you would've just kept sleeping in bed.
Speaker:So if you find yourself procrastinating or, you know, just literally
Speaker:wasting time unnecessarily,
Speaker:Then it's very likely that you lack the discipline required.
Speaker:To be as high performing as you'd like to be.
Speaker:So if you wish to work on your discipline and becoming a higher
Speaker:performing individual, Then it all starts with how you start your day.
Speaker:What pace are you setting?
Speaker:Right.
Speaker:Are you setting a tone where you wake up later in the day, sit on your phone for
Speaker:the first hour, uh, and then eventually make your way to the day's tasks and, you
Speaker:know, barely just get moving or are you setting a tone that is highly productive.
Speaker:Are you getting up?
Speaker:You know, at five 30 in the morning and knocking out a workout, a meditation,
Speaker:15 minutes of reading, you know, and already getting onto the day's tasks.
Speaker:And it's, you know, 8:30 AM in the morning.
Speaker:Like.
Speaker:That is such an incredible feeling to me personally, because I know at
Speaker:that point that, you know, even if the rest of the day doesn't go as planned.
Speaker:Uh, maybe I'm just not as productive or I get pulled into other directions.
Speaker:I already know that I have done some very, very productive things that I will be
Speaker:so appreciative of, you know, it's like they say, uh, don't put off to tomorrow.
Speaker:That what you can do today.
Speaker:And I really, really agree with that statement, you know, it's, um,
Speaker:A lot of the times with procrastination, we find ourselves, you know, just
Speaker:putting it off for tomorrow, putting off for tomorrow, even if it is
Speaker:something that you can do tomorrow.
Speaker:Why not just take care of it now.
Speaker:Um, because chances are, you're going to push it off to the very last minute and
Speaker:then you're going to be stressed about it.
Speaker:So handling it early on is a great way to take care of it.
Speaker:And I find that waking up at a good hour.
Speaker:In the morning, make sure that you have a enough time and not only time, but
Speaker:focused time to work on these things.
Speaker:So.
Speaker:Ultimately, ultimately my advice to you is that if you're not having, sorry, if
Speaker:you are having trouble being productive in your day, Maybe feel like there
Speaker:just isn't enough time in your day.
Speaker:Then start your day with the discipline of waking up at a time
Speaker:that isn't exactly comfortable.
Speaker:And have a list of tasks that you wish to accomplish that morning,
Speaker:or depending on the amount of the tasks, you know, in that day.
Speaker:This will help you create the momentum for your day.
Speaker:And eventually, you know, these days add up to weeks to years or sorry to months
Speaker:to years, and then eventually your life.
Speaker:And they will help you to stay more disciplined.
Speaker:Throughout.
Speaker:So it all starts with just one day, take it one day at a time.
Speaker:And eventually those days do turn into weeks, months, and then years.
Speaker:So if you just start focusing on waking up.
Speaker:Earlier tomorrow morning at a good time.
Speaker:Like I said, it doesn't have to be.
Speaker:You know, four 30 in the morning, unless you want it to be.
Speaker:Um, but it could be, you know, as early as five 30, just enough to make it kind
Speaker:of uncomfortable to get up and also give you the motivation to start doing
Speaker:stuff, because you have already willed yourself to get out of bed and get moving.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:Y'all that is going to do it for today's episode.
Speaker:So go ahead and set those alarm clocks a little bit earlier than normal and
Speaker:be ready with a task list so that you can wake up and not have to think
Speaker:about what you're going to do, but rather just jump into the day's tasks.
Speaker:You will thank me later.
Speaker:I promise you this is going to be one of the best productive
Speaker:hacks that I can give you.
Speaker:RD off, much love to everybody.
Speaker:And actually, before I go, I wanted to make one last point, being that
Speaker:you are going to wake up earlier, sleep is extremely important.
Speaker:So sent your.
Speaker:Time that you go to bed a little bit earlier as well.
Speaker:We want to make sure that we're still getting that good sleep in.
Speaker:W, eh, as well as waking up at a good hour.
Speaker:Sorry.
Speaker:I felt like I had to add that little piece in there before I ended this episode,
Speaker:but that is going to do it for today.
