Earth: The Foundation of your Health
The title of the Elemental Evan show drew it's inspiration from the elements that allow life to be possible. Evan has found that through connecting to each element, Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether, we're able to connect to ourselves and our health. Each element represents a portion of our health and if we are both able to honor and connect to these elements, then we are able to connect with ourselves, improve our health, and be the best possible version of ourselves.
In this episode and the following 4 Wellness Wednesday episodes, Evan will break down the five elements, explain what they represent, cover how we can connect with them, and explain what role they play in our health and wellness.
With the Earth element first up on the list Evan explains how Earth is
- the foundation of our health
- structure
- necessary in providing our vitamins and minerals
- able to discharge the positive charge our bodies accumulate over time through grounding
- in need of some love and care on our parts to keep it healthy and clean.
Learn how to connect to the Earth element in this episode and find your way to better health.

Hey, what's going on, everybody.
Speaker:Welcome back to the Elemental Evan podcast.
Speaker:Uh, today's episode is a wellness Wednesday episode.
Speaker:So today is going to be a full length episode.
Speaker:And today I'm super excited because I'm going to be sharing one of the.
Speaker:Essential elements is what I call it.
Evan:So I wanted to really kind of do a few episodes in connecting to
Evan:what the name of this podcast really is all about and, you know, kind
Evan:of where I got the idea for it and really explain the different elements
Evan:and how they connect to our health.
Evan:So.
Evan:today is going to be all about the element of earth.
Evan:And yeah, pretty much the reason I chose the name Elemental Evan is because I
Evan:truly do believe that if we are able to reconnect with the elements and
Evan:like, I call them essential elements and there's one element that I exclude
Evan:. So it would be the fifth one, and that
Evan:essential element, but still important.
Evan:Uh, but nonetheless, Four essential elements are key to our health.
Evan:And, you know, through these four elements, they all really
Evan:embody a portion of our health.
Evan:And if we are able to just reconnect to these elements and, you know,
Evan:be in unison with them and respect them and allow, you know, this, uh,
Evan:beneficial kind of relationship with them then we are going to be at a
Evan:better state of health and actually at our, our most optimal state of health.
Evan:you know, that was really the reason be behind me creating my, uh, elemental
Evan:seven day health reset was to just help people reconnect to the elements.
Evan:And so one of the things I've been contemplating on creating is a,
Evan:you know, a week to two week long course where I actually go through
Evan:everybody or go through the course with everybody and help everyone connect
Evan:to the elements because some of the benefits that I see in reconnecting
Evan:to the elements and people who have done my seven day elemental reset.
Evan:Is just astounding.
Evan:You know, I see people really improve their sleep, their mental focus and, you
Evan:know, mental clarity, they set up their whole day, much better where when you're
Evan:sleeping correctly at the right times, you're just much more put together.
Evan:You're able to be more effective in your day.
Evan:Uh, you're eating much cleaner.
Evan:You're drinking cleaner, you're breathing better.
Evan:You're moving more.
Evan:And it really can transform a lot of people's lives, both mentally,
Evan:physically, you know, spiritually on pretty much all levels.
Evan:So, uh, it's so beneficial that I really, really want to help share,
Evan:you know, these, the, the connection to the elements with all of you.
Evan:And I think going through a little course, like that might just be the way, so, uh,
Evan:keep your ears, uh, P or your eyes peeled.
Evan:No.
Evan:Keep your eye, uh, your ears open and ready to, uh, hear
Evan:about any upcoming news on those.
Evan:, I'll be sure to obviously let you guys know here on the podcast, if I'm
Evan:creating that and how it's coming along.
Evan:But nonetheless, let's go ahead and jump into today's episode,
Evan:which is all about the element of earth as I stated previously.
Evan:So when you look at the element of earth, you can kind of see, uh, that
Evan:there's a few ways of connecting to the earth element, right?
Evan:Um, the earth obviously represents a lot of different things like
Evan:stability, you know, kind of that homey.
Evan:Um, connection, like you feel comforted, right?
Evan:Like the earth is obviously our home.
Evan:It's a very stable place.
Evan:It's strong, it's solid.
Evan:It's providing it's, you know, gives back without anything in return,
Evan:you know, expects nothing but just provides and provides and provides.
Evan:And so, uh, it represents a lot of really good aspects.
Evan:a few of the ways that you can connect to this element is simply
Evan:to just get grounded, right?
Evan:So physically touching the ground, uh, with your bare skin, whether this be with,
Evan:you know, your hands or your feet, or, you know, your face, your back, whatever
Evan:it may be is, uh, a way of grounding.
Evan:And so, uh, This is something that doesn't happen as often these days, just
Evan:because people are living in, you know, 2, 3, 4, 5, 20 story buildings, you
Evan:know, and, and, uh, being able to touch soil is not a common thing for them.
Evan:So, uh, that is something that we definitely need to work on.
Evan:And then another way of connecting to the earth element is simply
Evan:through, uh, the soil of the earth.
Evan:Right?
Evan:So the soil is filled with all the vitamins and minerals that you know.
Evan:Is consumed by the plants and those plants are then eaten by us or eaten by
Evan:animals, which we then eat those animals.
Evan:And so realistically all the nutrients, uh, and you know, the vitamins, the
Evan:minerals, everything we need to live is coming from the earth, right?
Evan:So really respecting the soil and eating foods that are from
Evan:specifically, directly the soil, right.
Evan:Are going to be a great way to improve our health, uh, and connect to the earth.
Evan:And then in terms of movement, you have a lot of static
Evan:postures that are, uh, tied in.
Evan:You know, the earth element.
Evan:So there's even like in yoga, the mountain pose, right?
Evan:Like being very strong and rooted into the earth.
Evan:Uh, I like to do static postures when you're thinking of connecting to the
Evan:earth element because obviously the earth does move, but it moves very slowly.
Evan:And so when you go ahead and create these very strong postures and
Evan:hold them for a period of time, uh, you know, you're really building
Evan:that strength and stability.
Evan:So those are a few different, you know, types of connection to
Evan:the earth element that we have.
Evan:And we're just gonna.
Evan:Dive in a little bit more on how we can really connect to
Evan:the, uh, to the earth element.
Evan:So starting off again with grounding, this is something that I recommend
Evan:that everyone do daily, okay.
Evan:Is getting outside and putting, you know, usually it's just your bare
Evan:feet, but it could be your hands.
Evan:It could be your back.
Evan:It could be any part of your skin directly in contact with, uh, the soil.
Evan:You know, mother nature basically is it is just getting back
Evan:and, and creating that connect.
Evan:now for a lot of people who are thinking, uh, maybe this is a
Evan:little woo, woo or something.
Evan:Let me go ahead and explain more scientifically why this is important.
Evan:So the practice of grounding is important because throughout the
Evan:day, you are building up a positive charge in your cells, which over
Evan:time can become harmful to the.
Evan:Now the earth generally has a slightly negative charge.
Evan:And when you ground or simply connect your bare skin to the ground, you're
Evan:able to release that positive charge en thus achieve a neutral charge.
Evan:Now, this wasn't an issue back in the day because we were able
Evan:to connect our bare feet and our bodies to the ground regularly.
Evan:But now we live in sky rise buildings.
Evan:We have concrete all around us or asphalt.
Evan:Um, you know, we have these rubber souls on our shoes that we never
Evan:take off when we're outside.
Evan:And so essentially you are just building up this positive charge
Evan:over and over every single day.
Evan:And you are not able to release that positive charge and achieve a neutral
Evan:charge by connecting to the earth.
Evan:Um, if you are an electrician, then you already know.
Evan:You know, you ground your wires, right?
Evan:Like into the ground, literally.
Evan:Uh, so there is definitely signs backing this.
Evan:You can 100% search this on Google or whatever, uh, platform
Evan:you'd like to search on.
Evan:and you will see that there is absolute science backing the
Evan:effectiveness of grounding.
Evan:Now, a few of the benefits of grounding include decreased inflammation, improved
Evan:sleep, normalized, cortisol levels, improved blood flow, and, uh, protecting
Evan:against cardiovascular disease.
Evan:Okay.
Evan:These are not small little things that it's doing.
Evan:Okay.
Evan:It's not just, uh, maybe making your hair a more vibrant color or something
Evan:like this is very, very impactful.
Evan:These are things that are.
Evan:Very very helpful to your sleep or sorry to your health as to your sleep
Evan:as well, but, uh, very helpful for your.
Evan:and can really improve a lot of aspects of your life by simply
Evan:getting outside and just touching the earth with your bare skin.
Evan:It's a very simple practice.
Evan:I do it every single morning.
Evan:I get outside, I get the light, uh, which I will cover on the
Evan:fire element, but I get outside.
Evan:I get light on my skin and in my eyes, and I'm connecting to the ground to the
Evan:earth and grounding, trying to achieve a.
Evan:Neutral charge.
Evan:It's very, very important, simple costs you nothing, uh, and you should
Evan:absolutely absolutely be doing it.
Evan:So, uh, the next part would be to eat whole foods and not process foods.
Evan:So I kind of touched on this in terms of, you know, the soil containing all these
Evan:vitamins and minerals that, you know, the plants use and that the animals eat
Evan:the plants and, uh, obtain them as well.
Evan:And then obviously we eat the plants and the animals.
Evan:Depending on what your dietary restrictions might be.
Evan:It might be just one or the other or both, but nonetheless, we eat them.
Evan:And that is where we achieve our intake of vitamins and minerals.
Evan:Right.
Evan:And all, all the nutrients essentially that we need.
Evan:So the reason eating whole foods is so important is because when
Evan:you eat foods that are highly processed, things that are.
Evan:pretty much always in a box or just do not look like they came from nature.
Evan:Those are the things that you do not want to eat.
Evan:You want to eat foods that you can take and look at them and say, oh,
Evan:this came from this tree or this plant, or, you know, this region of, of, you
Evan:know, California, because that's where we raise, you know, that livestock or
Evan:whatever it may be, but you want the.
Evan:Food that you're eating to resemble where it came from.
Evan:Very specifically, um, an Oreo or a, you know, a donut.
Evan:Those do not look like something from nature.
Evan:And obviously everything comes from nature, but they are
Evan:far removed and processed.
Evan:So the further you get away, From being a whole food, meaning
Evan:something that simply is, you know, representative of where it came from.
Evan:So an apple from a apple tree, uh, a piece of steak from a cow, you know, those
Evan:are whole foods, those are recognizable foods and we know where they came from.
Evan:So really focusing on those foods are going to help to nourish your
Evan:body and allow you to definitely have a much higher level in state of.
Evan:So we have getting grounded and we have eating whole foods.
Evan:And then the last one is going to, uh, kind of go back to the soil.
Evan:And that is to just support Regener regenerative, um, gardening practices.
Evan:Right?
Evan:So.
Evan:If you're able to have a garden, then absolutely by all means create a garden
Evan:because when you can have food, that is, you know, so close to the source,
Evan:that is going to be the best for you.
Evan:It's gonna have the highest vitamin content, you know, it's not
Evan:having to sit and be transported.
Evan:It's not having to, you know, pollute the air to get to you.
Evan:You can simply walk outside.
Evan:Pick off whatever it is, or if you have the ability to have a massive piece
Evan:of land and have, you know, livestock on it, then, you know, obviously go
Evan:out and kill and butcher, uh, whatever the animal is that you're trying to.
Evan:that is going to be 100% the highest and best quality food that you can get.
Evan:Obviously, we do not want to use any herbicides, pesticides, red genocides,
Evan:fungicides, any of the sides.
Evan:Uh, those are going to be harmful.
Evan:Those are the things we do not want in our foods.
Evan:And they are also harmful for the soil itself.
Evan:Okay.
Evan:That stuff that you're using does not just, you know, Go onto the plant
Evan:and then evaporate into thin air.
Evan:No, it goes onto the plant.
Evan:And then when you water those plants, it then goes into the soil and it's runoff.
Evan:And then you have these soils that are, you know, practically contaminated
Evan:with, uh, all these different kinds of sides and just terrible things
Evan:that you do not want to be eating.
Evan:so, uh, a few different things you can do if you do have a garden
Evan:is definitely do some composting.
Evan:You can compost, even if you don't have a garden.
Evan:I actually have a little compost bin where I throw all of my,
Evan:you know, leftover scraps into.
Evan:And it's really awesome because that soil becomes so fertile that
Evan:you can just drop seeds in there.
Evan:And it will sprout immediately.
Evan:I mean, there's times where I've eaten a tomato or, um, you
Evan:know, a lemon or an avocado.
Evan:And I just toss the seeds in there.
Evan:And then it grows and all of a sudden, now I have an avocado
Evan:tree, so it's really awesome.
Evan:It's a great practice to have.
Evan:Um, if you do have a big garden, try not to till the earth too much, um, allow
Evan:the soil to just simply do its thing.
Evan:You don't need to really dig it up.
Evan:Uh, you can allow it to, you know, just be where it is be natural and
Evan:just dig your holes where you need.
Evan:you can also practice rotating crops.
Evan:So you're not overusing soil and depleting it of the minerals and vitamins that might
Evan:naturally, uh, be getting taken out by just planting the same crop on it over,
Evan:over, over, and over and over again.
Evan:Uh, this is a really important practice to do because we are practicing a
Evan:lot of mono cropping in the foods that we are getting from the stores.
Evan:And what's happening is we are depleting our soils, and now the fruits and
Evan:vegetables that we eat today compared to 10, 20 or 50 years ago are much
Evan:lower in vitamin and mineral content.
Evan:So it's very important that we practice, um, you know, regenerating our soils,
Evan:that they are full of nutrients to then provide to us down the road.
Evan:And it's very simple.
Evan:You just rotate your crops.
Evan:You don't put, you know, the same stuff on the same soil all the time.
Evan:You can let it.
Evan:so, uh, those are some really big key things you can do.
Evan:And then just kind of on that note real quick, uh, since we are not
Evan:achieving the level of nutrient intake that we've been needing to, uh, have.
Evan:There is a product that I have been consuming recently, and
Evan:it's not really a product.
Evan:It's actually just more of food.
Evan:It's an algae and that is spirulina and chlorella.
Evan:So I interviewed the founder of energy bits, Catherine Aton,
Evan:and I believe it was episode 67.
Evan:You could definitely go listen to it.
Evan:It was incredible.
Evan:She dropped a ton of knowledge and just explained how nutrient
Evan:dense spirulina and chlorella is.
Evan:And.
Evan:How it can really help to make up the lack that we are, uh, having
Evan:from eating the foods that are being produced and mono cropped, and, uh,
Evan:you know, thus we're not receiving the level of nutrients that we need.
Evan:And by eating spirulina and chlorella, you can actually achieve those levels.
Evan:They're packed with 40 vitamins and minerals.
Evan:Um, spirulina has all nine essential fatty acids.
Evan:Uh, chlorella has the highest level of chlorophyl in the world.
Evan:Uh, melatonin is also, I believe in spirulina is the highest level as.
Evan:uh, and chlorella maybe as well.
Evan:I'm sorry, just go listen to the episode.
Evan:She breaks it all down.
Evan:She's extremely knowledgeable on it, but nonetheless, you should
Evan:definitely check out energy bits.
Evan:Uh, if you don't check out energy bits, then please just look into
Evan:some spirulina and chlorella.
Evan:But if you do go the route of energy bits, which I'll link it in the show notes.
Evan:Definitely, definitely go ahead and use the code elemental get 20% off.
Evan:Okay.
Evan:Um, and on that note, you can buy a pack of a thousand tablets.
Evan:And I broke it down that if you were to just have three tablets a day,
Evan:it would last you over half a year.
Evan:So extremely cost effective and well worth it.
Evan:That can help you get rid of a lot of random supplements
Evan:that you might be taking.
Evan:Cuz they are a whole food and they contain so much beneficial, uh, items in it.
Evan:So anyway, Kind of coming back to the farming practices.
Evan:Uh, yeah, you definitely want to try to support local farmers, organic farmers,
Evan:you know, people are practicing like biodynamic farming or some form of
Evan:regenerative farming so that they're giving back to the earth and not
Evan:contributing to this mono cropping.
Evan:Obviously I understand that, you know, cost can be an issue here as well.
Evan:But like I said, if you can have a little garden that can be very cost
Evan:effective and help to give you some really, really high quality food, uh,
Evan:that's going to be packed of nutrients and not deficient, like all the
Evan:mono crop stuff that we're getting.
Evan:so those are definitely going to be a few ways that you can reconnect to the earth.
Evan:You can also practice things like planting trees, uh, you know, giving
Evan:back to the earth in any way we can, you know, don't litter refrain
Evan:from using, uh, single use plastic.
Evan:And, uh, I know those are a little bit less about, uh, your health benefits,
Evan:but they are definitely still in paying respect to the element of the
Evan:earth and just the earth in general.
Evan:so that is going to pretty much do it for the practices.
Evan:If you would also like to include a little bit of movement in
Evan:connection to the earth element.
Evan:Then as I stated earlier, you can practice static postures.
Evan:Um, so in yoga you would call those AANAs and you would just practice
Evan:static AANAs so you would hold a pose for an extended period of time,
Evan:you know, maybe one or two or three.
Evan:And, uh, you know, you can hold down dog for 30 seconds.
Evan:No problem.
Evan:But once you start to get up to that minute and 30 starts getting a little
Evan:bit harder to hold, but that is a static posture and it's a great way
Evan:to build some strength and stability, just like the element of earth.
Evan:So that is, you know, quite a few ways to connect to the earth element.
Evan:And, uh, if you are interested in hearing more about this, definitely
Evan:check out my course, uh, the elemental, uh, seven day elemental.
Evan:Health reset.
Evan:Sorry.
Evan:and go ahead and check that out.
Evan:I actually have been, uh, in the last few episodes, I've been mentioning that I have
Evan:a little thing going on here, where if you purchase the seven day reset, you get a
Evan:free breath work course with it as well.
Evan:My B my breath work course, and it was just, uh, a little way for me to
Evan:give back to all of you listeners.
Evan:And there are actually three of them left.
Evan:Still.
Evan:So, if you are interested in getting, uh, the seven day elemental health reset
Evan:and getting the breathwork course for free on top of it, obviously you have
Evan:to pay for the seven day reset, but you get the breathwork course for free.
Evan:Then go ahead and message me on either email or Instagram and just
Evan:simply type in seven day reset.
Evan:I'll know exactly what you're talking about, and then we can get you a
Evan:coupon code over to you so that you can get the breathwork course for.
Evan:Alrighty, guys, that is going to do it for today's episode.
Evan:I hope you really enjoyed this.
Evan:I'm going to be covering all of the elements, um, you know, back to back.
Evan:So each, uh, Wednesday from now on, you're gonna be hearing, you know, next up is
Evan:gonna be water and then fire and air, and then the last one's gonna be ether.
Evan:So stay tuned.
Evan:Um, I think it's gonna be really exciting.
Evan:I I'm happy.
Evan:Also explain kind of, you know, where the idea for this podcast name came from
Evan:and, and just kind of dig into all that.
Evan:So anyways, thank you all for listening and being long term listeners.
Evan:If, if you are a long term listener, and if you enjoyed this show, then
Evan:please feel free to share it with your friends, family, and loved ones.
Evan:Go ahead and share a story on Instagram or whatever social media you.

Evan:I'm uploading all of the videos up to there.
Evan:Uh, still a new thing to me, but getting the hang of it now.
Evan:and yeah, if you haven't left a review or subscribe to the, this podcast and please
Evan:do so, uh, especially if you find value in this podcast, and if you do find value in
Evan:this podcast, also leave a review, takes you just a minute or two, and you can even
Evan:leave a written review on apple podcast.
Evan:If you're on there, I appreciate that very much, and it really does help
Evan:people to find this show and spread this message, you know, and give out.
Evan:Beneficial information, cuz that's what this is all about for me is
Evan:just simply sharing the knowledge that I have with all of you.
Evan:Um, and give, give back to you in a way that's digestible.
Evan:So you can understand, you know, these maybe daunting concepts about health,
Evan:but you know, put 'em in a way that's very practical and give you actionable
Evan:steps to take literally today.
Evan:Obviously I just listed a few different ways.
Evan:You.
Evan:Connect to the earth element like grounding it's free and
Evan:it has so much benefit for you.
Evan:So anyways, that's the goal of this podcast is to really just help give you
Evan:the tools to take control of your health, connect to your elements and get back
Evan:to natural state of being and health.
Evan:So that's gonna do it for today.
Evan:You already know the motto for this show.
Evan:It's do everything with good intentions.
Evan:I truly believe that, um, do everything with good intentions and
Evan:you will know in your heart that, you know, you're doing the right thing.
Evan:Uh, even if the outcome might not be what you wanted, but.
Evan:Do everything with good intentions and connect your elements.
Evan:I will see you all on Monday.
